Fwd: LLD (macOS) usage?
Hi. I'm using LLVM 5.0.1 on macOS 10.12. I have a very simple program (program.c): int main() {} When attempting to compile with LLD, I get this output: $ clang -fuse-ld=lld program.c /opt/llvm/5.0.1/bin/ld.lld: error: unknown argument: -no_deduplicate /opt/llvm/5.0.1/bin/ld.lld: error: unknown argument: -dynamic /opt/llvm/5.0.1/bin/ld.lld: error: unknown argument: -arch

Fwd: LLD (macOS) usage?
I'm seeing something similar. clang is using HOST_LINK_VERSION, obtained from ld64, as the default for -mlinker-version. This causes Darwin.cpp to add the arguments you are seeing, but not handled by lld. Perhaps -fuse-ld should be considered in addition to -mlinker-version when adding these arguments. As a workaround, you can try passing -mlinker-version. Looks like anything < 133

LLD (macOS) usage?
MachO support in lld is not really ready for real world usage. It was able to bootstrap itself a couple of years ago, but, it has not really been maintained or further developed since. I would recommend that you use ld64 if you are intending to build MachO binaries. > On Jan 7, 2018, at 9:57 AM, Don Hinton via llvm-dev <llvm-dev at lists.llvm.org> wrote: > > I'm seeing

Fwd: LLD (macOS) usage?
I believe what's happening here is that clang translates the -fuse-ld=lld into calling the ld.lld executable, which is actually the ELF LLD linker, not the Mach-O one. On 6.0, the Mach-O linker symlink is called ld64.lld instead (and clang has been changed to call out to that name) to disambiguate the two. For 5.0, I'm not sure how best to force the Mach-O linker (I'm not familiar with

Building llvm-5.0.1 on Solaris 10/sparc
Greetings, All: I am trying to build llvm-5.0.1 on Solaris 10/Sparc with gcc-5.4.0 as follows. cmake -DLLVM_TARGETS_TO_BUILD="Sparc" /home/nemo/opt/llvm/llvm-5.0.1-src I then invoke gmake and the build trundles along and stops as follows. cmake + llvm : issue when embedding llvm
Hi Christophe, please keep this discussion on the list (re-added), so others can correct me if I'm wrong or am giving bad advice. If there is no dev package included or available for windows, then this means that you need to build LLVM yourself, I"m afraid. Cheers, Philip 2018-02-23 16:37 GMT+01:00 Christophe Demez <christophe.demez at luciad.com>: > Thanks a lot Philip,

[Polly] Reduced code analyzability moving from LLVM 3.9.0 to 5.0.1
Hi Johannes, Perfect, thanks! The CFG now looks very similar to what I got on LLVM 3.9.0 ([1] vs [2]). Any idea why setting -simplifycfg-sink-common=false is necessary? Similar to LLVM 5.0.1, the default for 3.9.0 is true [3], and setting it to false wasn't necessary in the latter version. cmake + llvm : issue when embedding llvm
Thanks, I can rebuild... but then why do they provide a pre-build package ? And anyway, I should continue to have the same cmake issue, right ? flac files playable in iTunes 5.0.1 ?
Hi, Is the recent version 0.1.5 (08.05.2006) of XiphQT compatible with iTunes 5.0.1 and Mac OSX 10.4? I am trying to get flac files to play in my iTunes and hope I don't have to upgrade iTunes and get all the junk that comes with it. i already have ogg support, so this is an incremental improvement. -- Thanks, Jerry

[Polly] Reduced code analyzability moving from LLVM 3.9.0 to 5.0.1
Hi, Recently I was looking at the potential of optimizing through Polly. The code that I am trying to optimize [1] adjusts a picture's colors to get an Instagram-like effect. To improve code analyzability on LLVM 3.9.0, I made the following changes: - Improve SCoP detection through -polly-process-unprofitable - Enable outer loop vectorization through -polly-vectorizer=stripmine, disabling

llvm 5.0.1 requires downstream workaround for diaguids.lib
Greetings, As of LLVM 5.0.1, LLVM generates a dependency on diaguids.lib if it finds DIA SDK available. This is ok, however llvm-config.exe does not expose the path to the library, so it results in these link errors: LLVMDebugInfoPDB.lib(DIASession.obj) : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol "long __cdecl NoRegCoCreate(wchar_t const *,struct _GUID const &,struct _GUID const

cmake + llvm : issue when embedding llvm
Hi everybody, I'm trying to build my own project that use LLVM. I followed the instruction here (
