Hotelling T-Squared vs Two-Factor Anova
...ling T-squared test for
a paired comparison of mean vectors?
Given:
Anova: repeated measures on both factors, 1st factor = two different
treatments, 2nd factor = 4 time points, where you are measuring the
blood pressure at each of the time points.
Hotelling T^2: You look at the difference in the 4x1 vector of blood
pressure measurements for the two different treatments, where the four
rows in the vector are the four time points.
I am mainly interested in the main effects of the two treatments. Can
someone please explain if there would be a difference in the two
methods or any advantage in u...

Help with the 'legend' command
...containing four different
sets of information of case numbers over time; one set for each of the
four countries in my study. I'm trying to create a legend that will show
the reader what type of point character I'm using for each country. I
have the names of the four countries stored as a 4x1 vector called
"names", and their corresponding pch values are 19,20,23,25. Here's the
part of the command that I have working so far:
legend(1980, 80000, names, .........)
In place of the ......., I'd like to insert the argument that will give it
the proper pch values for each...

Apps moving to laptop display when switching KVM
So I installed CentOS Stream 9 on a new Lenovo T14 Gen 4 Intel.
I have a 4x1 HDMI KVM with external monitor.
When switching the KVM, apps move between displays / workspaces in erratic ways.
More specifically, when switching out, apps on the external display
usually move to the laptop display.
This sorta makes sense for a laptop with an external display.
When the external...

saving estimates from a for loop for later use
Thanks to the help of many on this list, I am now an R user and have
been able to write some functioning code to do matching estimation.
I have two for loops (i in 1:3, and j in 0:2). Within the loops, I
had been creating matrices of relevant estimation coefficents in order
to make lots of LaTeX tables.
Well, now I want to be able to combine the results of many different
estimations from within

plotting labels (not values) on xy plot
I have 2 vectors, x and y and have done an xy plot.
I want to plot the label (name?) of the vector on the plot rather than the
value.
text(x,y, labels = x)
gives me the value of x.
text(x,y, labels = labels(x))
gives me something like c("text1","text2"..) plotted for each point
text(x,y, labels = names(x))
gives nothing
print(x) gives me

Matrix multiplication problem
Dear List,
I am having trouble with some R code I have written to perform
Redundancy Analysis (RDA) on a matrix of species abundance data (Y) and
a matrix of environmental data (X).
RDA is a constrained form of PCA and can be thought of as a PCA of the
fitted values of a regression of each variable in Y on all variables in
X.
For info, the first use of RDA is in:
Rao, C.R, 1964. The use and

Monty on holiday
Hi folks,
My wife and I are taking a long weekend to celibrate our anniversary. I won't
be around again until Wednesday to answer email or do anything else on Vorbis.
Yeah, I know, I usually answer my email once a month anyway (so likely no one
would notice me being gone), but just so folks know if anything really juicy
comes up :-)
I'll be merging my latest branch with mainline

Hi to all.
I'm experimenting with running a
https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/geforce%C2%AE-gt-710-1gb-pcie-x-1
card on an Nvidia Jetson TX2 arm64 device.
Possible?
Linux kernel aarch64 5.6.10.
Because Nvidia did not list drivers for this architecture, I'm
experimenting with a nouveau driver.
The Jetson TX2 has a default driver for the host1x framebuffer for output

Colored Dendrogram
...m).
In this dendrogram, each leaf is colored differently. But, I do not want the
leaf colored on a random basis. I want to assign color for leaf on basis of
some criterion.
My actual problem: How to generate a dendrogram with the leaf colored
according to the values in the second matrix (which is 4x1 dim, say matrix
c)? Meaning, the leaf 1 and 2 should be colored in neighboring spectra of
color (say different shade of red) and leaf 3 and 4 in a different color
(say different shade of blue)
Below is R code and data matrix
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks

[PATCH v2 0/5] Multiqueue virtio-scsi, and API for piecewise buffer submission
Hi all,
this series adds multiqueue support to the virtio-scsi driver, based
on Jason Wang's work on virtio-net. It uses a simple queue steering
algorithm that expects one queue per CPU. LUNs in the same target always
use the same queue (so that commands are not reordered); queue switching
occurs when the request being queued is the only one for the target.
