pxelinux and kernel files over 8M
Hi, I built a large kernel and file system combination file using the 2.6 kernel feature initramfs. The resulting combination of a 2M kernel and a 45M file system was a file around 47M. When I tried to boot this kernel and file system combination using pxelinux, I got the error message "Invalid or corrupt kernel image.". I tracked this to the file runkernel.inc at the label "is_linux_kernel:" where it checks to see if the kernel is over 8M and determines that...

[LLVMdev] Recompiling llvm+clang how-to?
Hello list I have questions about compiling Clang+llvm. I compile as the link below instructs. http://clang.llvm.org/get_started.html I do on Ubuntu 12.04. `time make -j5` prints for about 13 minutes to compile a brand new version of Clang+llvm. And after this I edit some C++ code(clang/tools/driver/driver.cpp) and compiles using the very same makefile which was used above sentence. But this

Add support for in-process profile merging in profile-runtime
I have thought about this issue too, in the context of games. We may want to turn profiling only for certain frames (essentially, this is many small profile runs). However, I have not seen it demonstrated that this kind of refined data collection will actually improve PGO results in practice. The evidence I do have though is that IIRC Apple have found that almost all of the benefits of PGO for
