Dell Poweredge 4300 + PARC 2 (Megaraid) Centos 4
After 4 days of agrevation I felt it was best I post to the list before I break something or hurt myself. It seems that 2.6 from other posts seemed to kill support for this card in particular since LSI has EOL'd it. Although I've managed to download megaraid-2.00.3 which does support this card and build an object on a sperate box. Although the installer seems to require a driver disk and

Hardware requirements question.
I have a Dell PowerEdge 4300 server with dual Zenon 550 MHz processors, SCSI controller with four 9MB drives and 1 GB of RAM. I want to develop an asterisk pbx with 4 POTS lines in and 16 analog extensions (no VOIP). I also will install a sound card for an intercom. Is this hardware sufficient if using a Digium TDM2400P?...

remove_index missed quote_table_name
in lib/active_record/connection_adapters/abstract/schema_statements.rb there is a missing quote_table_name in line 286 (def remove_index): execute "DROP INDEX #{quote_column_name(index_name(table_name, options))} ON #{table_name}" so my "keys" table can get an index with "add_index" but can''t remove it (without tweaking) replacing it to execute

Asterisk hint thing.... what do you do with it?
...ish is to get some snom phones and have shared call appearance lights go on & off when certain extensions are in use etc. Is this hint thing what is needed? is there a way to test it without actually using a phone that has the shared call appearances? I tried something like this: exten => 4300,hint,SIP/4300 exten => 4300,2,Dial(SIP/4300,33,tT) exten => 4300,3,Voicemail(u4300) exten => 4300,4,hangup set verbose to 4 and sip debug on... I don't see anything different when extensions 4300 is picked up dialing or connecting a call however doing a show hints at the CLI shows...

Tried searching google but could not understand & find the solution. Thanks, Shivi [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Very surprising behaviour with --files-from

I thought it could be rsync checking the directories that have those files in them, but there are only 4300 directories, and when I stopped the big version (OK, *that* was a mistake, but I was worried about the behaviour) it was saying "28395900 files...", which is rather a lot more than 20 million + 4300. This is making a many hours difference to an already very long process; anyone know what...

Install CentOS-5.0 on HP-ComPaq DC7700 Dual Core
I am attempting to install CentOS-5.0 from CD-ROM onto an HPQ- DC7700 Dual Core machine. The standard install seems to halt at, or immediately after, this point in the setup process is displayed on the console: <Enter> {default install option} ... CPU1: Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 CPU 4300 @ 1.8GHz stepping 02 ... ACPI: Assume root bridge [\_sb_.pc10] bus is 0. I would like to get this box running so any help with this is greatly appreciated. The reason for using CentOS-5.0 is because I do not which to wait 30 some odd hours to download new ISO images. The plan is to install from...

problems with samba and Perc/2 RAID
Hi, We recently acquired a Dell PowerEdge 4300 with two PIII 500 Xeons and half a gig of RAM, running RedHat 6.1 out of the box. In addition, it has a PERC2/SC Single Channel RAID card for six 18GB LVD SCSI drives. The problem is that, while we're not doing anything fancy with samba, basic file share stuff, the load seems to spike wheneve...
