Hi all, I notice a big throughput differences between a normal user and root on Dom-0. I did the command scp largefile root@xx.yyy.zzz.sss:~ and got the following result (test is a normal user): >From Dom-0 to Dom-1 Login root --> largefile 100% 4096MB 8.5MB/s 08:01 Login test --> largefile 100% 4096MB 2.9MB/s 23:46 <--??? >From Dom-1 to Dom-0 Login root --> largefile 100% 4096MB 8.1MB/s 08:27 Login test --> largefile 100% 4096MB 8.5MB/s 08:02 I have a hard time figuring why will root have faster throughput un...

sfdisk -g support in DomU
Back in January there was a mail thread on this subject ( http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2005-01/msg00659.html ), however I see that blkfront still does not include ioctl support for disk geometry. So, any application that uses "sfdisk -g" to get the geometry of a partition, or disk, will fail when run in DomU. Is this a deliberate omission? Nick Logan

Page allocation failure and slow system
.... It is accompanied by a severe slowdown of the system. In fact, it's practically locked. The machine runs gnome-desktops for 40 users plus about a hundred sessions of a curses based point of sale software, plus a few other functions, so it's a busy machine. Dual Xeon 3.2GHz processors. 4096MB ram. 8192MB swap. During this period, I'm seeing lots of swapout. sar reports 266 pages per second averaged over that 10 minute period. I'm thinking that I have a runaway process, but have not been able to see one of these instances for myself at the time it is happening. I've set...

xl create bug on first-attempt with passthrough
Hello, I recently swapped some components, and rebuilt my system. Changes to the configuration: - Wheezy Beta 1 > Wheezy Beta 2 - Kernel 3.4.9 > Kernel 3.4.11 I have tested the new Xen 4.2 stable, and Xen unstable revision 25777, both are giving me the same error so I do not believe it is related to a change in Xen. The first attempt to pass a PCI device after booting the system
