After snapshot-delete, the qcow2 image file size doesn't decrease, isn't
that a waste of disk space?
Would someone please tell me how to decrease the file size when
snapshot-delete, if that's possible?
The image file name of my virtual machine is d0.qcow

CentOS 6.4 x86_64 VM Install freezes
I am trying to install a CentOS 6.4 x86_64 VM using a CentOS 5.9 x86_64
host, but its install has froze *twice*. What I am doing is to create a
10gig LVM volume, which I put a MS-DOS partition table on (using fdisk).
I then format the only partition to ext3, install grub and install the
pxeboot kernel and initrd.img and a simple grub.conf to load this.
I have the CentOS 6.4 x86_64 ISOs mounted

FW: Input/output error
Rahul,
I just start experiencing the exact same problems on one of my
RedHat 7.3 servers. So far it has been about once a week. The first
time this happened, I was lucky enough to get an error in the error log,
and it turned out to be from an old kernel bug (kernel BUG at
journal.c:406!) I upgraded from 2.4.18-3smp to 2.4.18-27.7.xsmp, but
the problem came back, this time with no errors in the

Can't install Civ4
I know this is a long shot, but I have to ask.
I had tried to get Civ4 working in Wine without success in the past, but recently was encouraged to try again based on reports in the Civ4 linux forum. One key was that versions before 1.3.X didn't work.
Running openSuse 11.4, which installed Wine 1.3.12, I just followed the usual procedure to install Civ4, Beyond the Sword and my favorite mod,

Apparently no swap configured
Hello,
I'm in a slightly unusual situation and I'd really appreciate some advice.
I installed CentOS 5.2 on a server about a month ago.
Today I happened to check the 'free' command and noticed that the Swap
line reads as follows:
Swap: 0 0 0
I'm pretty certain that when I installed the OS and created a custom
partition table, that I defined a

Input/output error
Hi All,
About once a week, I get a this strange error on bash command line.
Running any command on the command line results in " Input/output
error". Only way to get back to normal operation is to hard reboot the
machine. I suspect this is something to do with my file system. I am
using RH7.3 with ext3 file system on IBM Travelstar drives.
I use dd to duplicate the drives. The source

rsyncing directories - sanity check
hey guys,
I need to mount a different volume onto /var so we have more room to
breathe. I'll be turning 3 servers into an elasticsearch cluster. And for
some reason when the servers were ordered the large local volume ended up
being /usr when the ES rpm likes to store it's indexes on /var.
So I'm syncing the contents of both directories to a different place, and
I'm going swap
