Best Partitioning Tool?
Hi All, which is the best tool for partitioning, as I forgot to bring in my copy of PartitionMagic(DOH!!) and need to resize an NTFS partition today. I'm using XP Pro at the moment. I wish to resize a 38GB partition, primary, to 20GB and use the rest for a Linux Install(CentOS 4-3). Cheers. Mark Sargent. P.S. I can't use my normal account whilst at work, so subscribed from my work account. Is that breaking any list rule, and if so, what's the work around? -------------- next part -------...

Can I get rsync to delete missing files first?
I am backing up a remove partition which is 38Gb onto a local partition which is 40Gb. Rsync is complaining that I have run out of disk space on the local partition, and I can tell that this would not happen if local files that are missing in the remote system were deleted BEFORE copying down new files. I note there is a --delete-after option, b...

Is it possible to reclaim block groups once they are allocated to data or metadata?
...seen I don''t have a lot of free space left and while I am planning on adding more storage soon I would like to gain a little breathing room until I can do this. While I don''t have a lot of space remaining in Data, RAID1 I do have a good chunk in Metadata, RAID1. 2.5GB used out of 38GB. Does this excess become available automatically to the file system when the block groups in Data, RAID1 are exhausted or, if not, is there a way to manually reallocate them? duplicate entries on ext3 when using readdir/readdir64
Hello, I have a problem with directories that contain more than 10000 entries (Ubuntu 8.04.1) or with more than 70000 entries (RHEL 5.2). If you use readdir(3) or readdir64(3) you get one entry twice, with same name and inode. Some analyzing showed that disabling dir_index solves this problem, but I think that this is a bug in the ext3 code, as no other file-system shows this behavior.

How do downgrade mozilla ?
Hello Sorry to say this to everyone, but since I installed CentOS 6 a month ago I found that both Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird crash big time (meaning every day and even more than once a day) with a large INBOX or newsgroup, or with many tabs open in the Firefox windows. I also keep my work computer running over night usually, maybe this is also a factor. Knode does not do a

ocfs2 - disk usage inconsistencies
Hi all. I have a 50 GB OCFS2 file system. I'm currently using ~26GB of space but df is reporting 43 GB used. Any ideas how to find out where the missing 17GB is at? The file system was formatted with a 16K cluster & 4K block size. Thanks, Matt -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
