I tried it by creating a .ll of all of clang. Some sizes: * clang.ll 490M * clang.ll.gz 55M * clang.ll.bz2 37M * clang.ll.xz 27M with the current bitcode: * clang.bc 82M * clang.bc.xz 27M with the new bitcode: * clang.bc 70M * clang.bc.xz 26M it looks like a nop run of opt also got a bit faster, from 10.451s to 10.176s. +static void EmitSignedInt64(SmallVectorImpl<uint64_t> &Vals, uin...

64bit vs 32bit
I am upgrading a server that mounts in a rack. Its going on the cheapest socket 775 CPU I can buy and in a 1u rack case. All its for is keeping some log files and doing some simple MYSQL/PHP database stuff. Not a work horse at all. Anyway, is it better to go 64bit or 32bit for the CentOS 5.x install? I do not see needing huge amounts of RAM or anything like that on this box. Would the 32bit

Build your own "appliance" concept
I've been working on this the past few days and thought I would put it out there to see if anyone else has interest in it. It really has nothing to do with the Digium appliance, I've just been looking for some mass produced solid state hardware to run small branch offices off of for awhile now and I think I've finally landed on something I like. Basically I've taken an HP thin
