portmap messages under /var/log/messages
I am running Redhat 6.1 as a firewall between a cable modem and my home network. My Net is busted
...On that system if I do a net groupmap, I get noting at all returned except for a newline. In fact almost all net commands seem to not work properly, with the exception of net status. For instance: [root@file-server sbin]# net usersidlist [2007/02/09 14:35:18, 0] utils/net_rpc.c:net_usersidlist(3726) Could not get the user/sid list [root@file-server sbin]# net groupmap list [root@file-server sbin]# With and LDAP backend that is working properly for users, what could cause that? thanks, Dan

netstat - kill by pid ?
I am writing a small script to kill process(es) listening on particular port number. Here I am particularly looking at Java servlet-containers like Tomcat and JBoss, which sometimes don't complete their shutdown process and it still shows up as running process with ps or netstat. This needs to be kill-ed and for that knowing pid of that process is necessary. The netstat by default doesn't

IAXy Hung, Power-cycle Required
I've got a single IAXy installed in a little office nearby and got a call from someone on site a finew mintues ago. Apparently they couldn't make a call on that extension. They'd pick up the phone and get nothing; no dial-tone. Running "iax2 show peers" showed the unit still registered and I could ping it too. Didn't try to call it while it was doing this; sorry. The

pv_ops kernel and nvidia binary driver
Just wondering what it will take to get the nvidia binary driver working on a pv_ops kernel. It makes it difficult to debug without the source to the nvidia driver, but I think it should be possible to get it to work without changing the binary driver. If the dom0 kernel had access to all the resources that a bare metal kernel did, then it should work right? I''m using Jeremy''s
