leap year and order function
im trying to write a for loop so that every leap year, the number of days
becomes to 366 instead of 365. could someone help me out?
and also, this set of data has 99.99s I set all the 99.99 ==NA.
however, when im doing the order function to find the max value of that
year, it still reads 99.99 as the max value.
Thank you very much

Interesting interaction between journal recovery and slow boots

Tinc on MacOs X
My intention is to set up tinc so that I can connect from home to an
office network. All CPUs are running MacOs X, 10.2.8 or 10.3.5.
I have read the tinc manual, tincd.8 and tinc.conf.5. However, I am
still unclear about a few issues.
First and foremost, how to I setup the VPN interfaces on the hosts,
on MacOs X? Which file do I have to alter and what is the exact
syntax on Os X to setup

Sine Regression in R
...os(x1)]
y = a + b * cos(c) * sin(x1) + b * sin(c) * cos(x1)
y = a + b1 * sin(x1) + b2 * cos(x1)
where b1 = b * cos(c) and b2 = b * sin(c)
This works fine for me as I am not interested in the value for b and c. By
trial and error I also detemined that the sensibel value for d is 1/58. I
have 366 days of data and want to fit a single sine onto it.
*First question*: 1/ 58 = (2 pi) / 366. I guess 366 is the period of my
data, I have 366 days. so *d = (2 pi) / Period*. Is this correct.
*Second question*: I reckon that all of this looks very DIY. Is there a
better way to do this in R? Maybe t...

Chan_capi on builds 7955>8320 strangeness
Hello All,
I am having an odd problem with Armin's chan-capi_cm on builds higher
than 7955.
It would seem that this happens on anything higher than 7955.
What is happening is the isdn is ringing, then asterisk does a goto-if
and just hangs.
Asterisk itself is ok, but the isdn then rings out or busys out on the
other side.
Outgoing works fine, this only seems to effect incoming.

Using zoo() to aggregate daily data to monthly means
I am trying to get monthly means for a daily data series using zoo(). I have
found an odd problem, that seems to be caused by zoo()'s handling of leap
years.
Here's my R script with 2 methods (freq=365, 366) for aggregating the daily
data to monthly series:
library(zoo)
J_link <- "http://www.ijis.iarc.uaf.edu/seaice/extent/plot.csv"
JAXA_data <- read.table(J_link,
skip = 0, sep = ",", dec=".",
row.names = NULL, header = FALSE,...

syslinux 1.67 - have to use '-s' on my Dell CPiA 366
Hi. I need to use '-s' with syslinux, in order to make it work on my
Dell CpiA 366 laptop *when I use 1722kB floppies*.
Plain 1440kB floppies work w/o '-s'.
1722kB images work well with bochs without the use of '-s'.

leap years in temporal series command ts
...ith ts command for the interval
1st January 2002 - 31 December 2008. I have daily values, so this is a
2557 days temporal series. I'm using this command :
ts(observations, start=2002, end=2009, freq=365)
However, I don't get the correct temporal series since both frequency
(365 OR 366 for leap years) and deltat (1/365 OR 1/366) are varying with
the year considered.
So, is there a specific way to deal with leap years in the ts command or
have I to use another package?
Thanks in advance,
Peter

help with table partition
Hi,
I have a test_table where the dim is 62220 by 73 (row by col)
I would like to partition the rows into 170 equal parts (170 tables
where each is of dim 366 by 73), and rearrange them horizontally. The
source codes I have:
for (i in 1:170) {
c = cbind(c,test_table[(367*i+1):(367*(i+1)),2:73]);
}
Unfortunately, using for loop and cbind for a table of this size causes
long running time. What is the most efficient way to get t...

'data.frame' method for base::rep()
Dear R developers
Would you consider adding a 'data.frame' method for the base::rep
function? The need to replicate a df row-wise can easily arise while
programming, and rep() is unable to handle such a case. See below.
> x <- iris[1, ]
> x
Sepal.Length Sepal.Width Petal.Length Petal.Width Species
1 5.1 3.5 1.4 0.2 setosa
> rep(x, 2)
