Making multiple columns to a single column
...ple question. I'm trying to make multiple columns to a single column. For example, *ttx1* is a 46*72 matrix. so, I tried this. *d1=ttx1[,1] d2=ttx1[,2] ... d72=ttx1[,72]* now, d1, d2, ...,d72 become a 46*1 matrix. And then.. I tried.. *dd=rbind(d1, d2, ..., d72)* I thought *dd* should be 3312*1 matrix; but it becomes 72*46. I really wanted to make it a single column (3312*1). Do you know what is wrong in this code? Or, do you have a better idea in making multiple columns to a single column? Thank you so much. -Hyo [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Just wanted to alert everyone regarding a problem that I only experience with R2.9.0 and not with R2.8.1 when I run both using exactly the same script and the same data. Here is what I do with my data "MyData", 2 predictors (V1 and V2) and my survival DV "Depvar": library(survival)

Partial italic in graph titles when looping
...orresponding title is formatted properly. The titles will be a combination of a gene name and numerical position within the gene. The gene name should be italic-bold, whereas the gene position should be just bold. Consider the following: x <- read.table(textConnection("gene position FLC 3312 TFL1 687 GA1 1127"), header = TRUE, as.is = TRUE) closeAllConnections() Now this, below, is essentially how I am automating the graph-making (imagine these graphs contain some sort of real data): par(mfrow = c(3,1)) for (i in 1:nrow(x)){ plot(z <- sort(rnorm(47)), type = "s&quot...

The tail of two systems and one hard drive. I install centos 5 on a HD while it is in a Compaq with 256Mb memory. After install, i am in graphics mode (Gnome) and top reports not quite all 256Mb used. Then I move the HD to a decTOP with 512Mb memory. I am running non-graphics (init 3). I ssh into the unit and top reports not quite all of that used..... So what ate up more than 256Mb
