...order. Bummer.
So I'd like to tell icecast to always name the stream from one IP one
thing, they other the other. Is there any way, either simple or
tricky, to do this?

.... I've tried encoding at several different speeds (bit
rate and encoding), and well as setting the -h switch, all with no
difference. Anyone else seen this? Suggestions?

MP3 push software?

find a client for icecast (mpg123, wget, fetch, ...), put the content to
standard out, find a source for darwin (sorry, I don't know any) and let it
use the standard in.

ices2 (which is a seperate program, written by different people) does
vorbis streaming. It also does live streaming. Feel free to ask me
for any features that are missing.

on-demand source as default mountpoint
Hi icecasters,
Is there a way to attach a static file to a source client without using the
/file subdirectory? What I'm trying to do is have a static file broadcasted
on-demand via http://fooblah:8000/, but I can't uses ices (I think) since that
just throws the file to the server without any sense of timing. If I use ices,
listeners could tune in during the middle of the static file,

ok. dont tell me i am lame. i already know.
my question is.. where is the default stream
name kept? i have rummaged through icecast.conf
and ices.conf, and to no avail, i cannot find it.
with no coding required on my part.. streaming works
on my Alpha. wohoo!

icecast 1.3.12 streaming big static files, offset
hello
i am running an icecast setup since a little while now and i am
very convinced of the quality of this product. still i have 2 wishes
or problems which seem almost unsolvable to me:
1: i don't know how i can convince icecast to make an offset
position by streaming big static files. i.e. streaming
big.mp3 not from start but one hour later:
60s*60mins*16000

Problems with ices
Hi,
I compiled the latest version of ices from cvs, but I have some problems
with it. When I start it up, I only get the error "Failed to read config
file "/usr/local/icecast/etc/ices.conf""
My /usr/local/icecast/etc/ices.conf looks like this:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<ices:Configuration xmlns:ices="http://www.icecast.org/projects/ices">

using the latest icecast and ices to stream both ogg and mp3
I've gotten a request from another broadcasting partner to set up yet
another streaming audio server. They would like to stream in both ogg
and mp3 formats from off a single icecast machine. I have been searching
through the archives and I have seen this mentioned as being possible,
but no real configurations.
I would of course place LAME on the box and use that for streaming just
as I would

OK, am I missing something ??
Hi all,
Didn't get any replies to my previous query, so I thought I'd try again.
Since I last emailed out, my station has appeared on yp.icecast.org, so I
really don't know what was going on there....
This time, however, I'm hot on the trail of a generally crappy output
stream from icecast/streamcast/ices.
It stutters; it halts on track changes; it causes the little red

Ok, it's seemed to my conversation with Eric. My Bc server will receive N sources, mix them and broadcast the final results, but I see some differences
