Bitrate problem
...at 8 KHz] bitrate is arround 30KBPS, including
UDP,RTP headers. This is OK for me and I get good quality
audio.
Problem is, if call is made from a HIGH END machine [like
P4 3.2 GHz with good soundcard] to a LOW END machine
[like P3 550 MHz], high end pc sends at more bitrate than
as usual [arround 31Kbps].And apparently low end PC
receives this HIGH bitrate.
So, slow end PC receives audio packets at arround 8100 Hz
but it is confiured for 8000 Hz. So there are overflows
in the directsound buffer at receiver end at periodic
interval [in my case after every 30 sec], than I flush
the buffer which mak...

Possible bug in Opus 1.3 (opus-tools-0.2-opus-1.3)?
Hi!
Playing with Opus 1.3 I converted a tone sweep with a sample rate of 96kHz (just for fun). Before I had converted that from WAV to FLAC, and to Vorbis without problems.
With Opus I noticed that the file size for 48kHz and 48 kbps compared to 96kHz Vorbis at 31kbps is about double the size and it sounds even worse (than Vorbis) (there is a lot of noise in the lower frequencies when a low frequency tone is being played).
Here is what opusinfo outputs:
Processing file "D:\Work\Ulrich\Musik\Vega\Opus\Audacity\Test-Sweeps\02 Sweep (0
-20kHz at 96kHz) log.op...

Modem connections
I have a modem on a port of a channel bank dialing out a FXO port to
the PSTN. It wont train at any speed. If I put another modem on a
another port of the channel bank, it will connect to it, but at @31Kb.
Anybody try this and have it work ?

Your opusenc line says "--bitrate 56 --vbr",
so where does the 48 come from?
Anyway:
$ flac sweep.wav
$ oggenc sweep.wav
$ opusenc sweep.wav sweep.opus
$ ls -l sweep.*
