Want to restrict puppet module execute every 30mins
Hi, I have created a puppet module that performs below steps: 1. stop application service 2. take backup of existing application 3. download application artifact 4. install the application 5. some configuration stuff 6. start the application service Since the agent will poll the master every 30mins all these steps are executed every 30mins which I do not want. I want to enforce the puppet module execution only upon module change. Can I possibly do that? If not how can resolve this situation? Thanks Aravind -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups &quot...

Successfully Using $135 Avaya sip phone
I think I am the first to use the $135 Avaya 4602 SIP phone, but I need some support from the community to fix one problem I have with it. The phone stops working after about 20-30mins if I have mailbox=context in Asterisk; when I do have mailbox=contect in asterisk the sip debug returns "481 extension does not exist." Anyone willing to help me figure out why? I.E. Is it an Asterisk issue? Is it a configuration issue on my side? Is it a bug with the phone? Any help w...

Is there any way to stop a resilver?
Is there any way to stop a resilver? We gotta stop this thing - at minimum, completion time is 300,000 hours, and maximum is in the millions. Raidz2 array, so it has the redundancy, we just need to get data off. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Excessive Swap with MSVC++ and Wine
...tools under Wine. In particular I'm trying to compile and link a large DLL - about 4M in size. The problem is the amount of memory used by link.exe. At the moment, with 256M of real memory and 1G of swap I quickly run out. Under Windows2000, on the same machine, the link takes a long time (30mins - 1 hour) but does complete. I am assuming that under Windows2000 (where I think I have less swap) link.exe is eventually being denied additional resources and runs with what it's got. Under wine it seems that all it's resource requests are granted until the kernel kills the process whe...

Speed up an R code
...or with 4gigs of RAM. Desktop 2 is newer one and has a xeon processor W3505 with 12gigs of RAM. Both run on Windows 7. ? I don't really see any significant speed up in the newer computer (Desktop 2). In the older one the program took around 5hrs 15 mins and in the newer one it took almost 4hrs 30mins. ?In the newer dekstop, R gives me the following: > memory.limit() [1] 1024 > memory.size() [1] 20.03 ?Is something hampering me here? Do I need to increase the limit and size? Can this change be made permanent? Or am I looking at the wrong place? ?I have never seen my R programs using m...

Asterisk - first impressions
...t for home use (so I can call home while travelling). Using AVM A1 (BT Speedway) ISDN card. Anyway, I find it very hard to locate supporting information for Asterisk. User's Handbook is still a draft, this mailing list is not easily searchable, and any info out on Usenet is scarce. I spent some 30mins just trying to find out naming convention for ISDN4Linux channels! My home Asterisk is now functioning, but I still got some minor quirks to solve: 1. SIP softphone provides "Ringing" indication when I call another SIP softphone, but not when the call goes out via ISDN. All I get is &qu...

Strange Lockup
Hi All, We seem to have a strange problem with our NEC ML4 pcs. When using pxelinux to network boot, we are getting our menu (using menu.c32) when we choose a option the machine just locks up. If the option requires a password it shows the password box , I put in the password and then it locks up. But strangely the machine will boot from local disk which is an option on the boot menu. Our

Problem is, and yes I used the wine install script or whatever it's called, the compilation trashed my whole system. The compile went for >30mins, it doesn't even take that long to compile a new kernel. When I rebooted, my system wouldn't load modules, I got kernel errors, system hangs, you name it. However, despite a message at the final compilation stage saying it errored while reading my windows .reg files, the reg files copied to...

system hanging
...tories, to a backup server which initiates the connection (rsync -avre /usr/bin/ssh --delete xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:/var/spool/mail /var/spool) The rsync is running as root on both ends. The system has hung now about 6 times over the last 5 or 6 weeks. Every time it's hung, it's been within the 30mins that the rsync would be running. When it hangs, I'm getting no log entries of any failure, and nothing dumped to screen. I can switch between tty's and type away to me hearts content, but no response. The box is totally dead, and the only way to get it back is the power switch. I saw a p...
