Contrasts for 2x4 interaction in mixed effects model
Hello everyone,
I am running a mixed effects model where I have two fixed factors, one with
2 levels and one with 4, and their interaction. Let's say these are my
factors and their levels:
FirstFactor: 1, 2
SecondFactor: A, B, C, D
For the interaction, I am interested in the four two-way comparisons, not
the two four-way comparisons. In other words, I want to test whether 1A is

avoiding if-then statements for looped chi-square tests
...of different RxC tests based on how many genotypes (e.g.
2 genotypes vs 4 gives 8 cells, 2 by 2 gives you a 4 cell test etc.).
Instead of writing a series of if then statements for the chi-square test
on the obs-exp numbers for each possible gene pair (i've started to do
this....2x2, 2x3, 3x2, 2x4, 3x4,etc) is there a generic way to pass the
number of unique elements for each gene (which would define the number of
genotypes for that gene) into a calculation of the obs-exp and then the
chisquare test?
Here is some example code to illustrate what I am trying to work with.

Ensuring a matrix to be positive definite, case involving three matrices
...in the algorithm used to generate the Kalman Filter
equations needs in each iteration the inverse of the variable Ft, ("Kt[,, i]
= Pt[,, i] %*% t(Zt[,, i]) %*% solve(Ft[,, i])") which is updated by "Ft[,,
i] = Zt[,, i] %*% Pt[,, i] %*% t(Zt[,, i]) + GGt[,, i]".
Zt is a constant 2x4 matrix and can't be changed. Gt (2x2) and P0 (4x4) are
inputs for 'fkf'. Pt is updated in each iteration, starting with P0. GGt is
constant and one of the parameters tested by 'optim' to minimize the LogLik
(by the way, GGt is always positive definite). Except for the first

dispersed". In R I coded their C(alpha) test statistic (called TNBI) for
interaction for the case where the counts are extra-dispersed, as well as
their test for extra-dispersion (called T_a). Using the Quine data set
(Quine, 1975) the authors collapse the orginal 4x2x2x2 study design into a
2x4 table and obtained estimates of TNBI=10.36 and T_a=90.81.
Using the dispersion estimate from glm.poisson.disp and the estimates for mu
I got exactly the same results for TNBI and T_a. This made me happy. Now I
thought to try the ML estimates from glm.nb to see if the results would be
the same but I...

Problems setting up Samba (nmbd) as multi-subnet router

i have a network with one machine acting as master router with
2x4-Port-Ethernet-Cards in it - running nmbd!

How to trigger a resync of a newly replaced empty brick in replicate config ?

I simplified the config in my first email, but I actually have 2x4 servers in replicate-distribute with each 4 bricks for 6 of them and 2 bricks for the remaining 2. Full healing will just take ages... for a just single brick to resync !

Monitor Dummy Device
Thank you Jonathan for your participation.
But i only want the same workflow like a second device is wired.
A hoped its possible to configure a second xorg-server or a
fakedevice/-monitor that kde recognize this and you could use this as
second desktop in same way as in dualscreen-modus.
So i ask a lot of people the last days and ok, maybe tis solution seems
unavailable without deeper knowhow.

Hi, Andy,
I don't quite understand everything that's going on here. Could we model this as:
1. Define a collection of register classes, one for 2x4 tiles, one for 4x2 tiles, etc. each populated with a set of tile registers. Registers can have aliasing relationships (instead of worrying of any kind of subregister/superregister relationships -- these won't be useful anyway).
2. Define the tile-configuration instructions so that they implic...

...issues and the hardware details to prevent this. We'll also want a diagnostic that lets the user know when this has happened.
When the tile configuration is set, the shape of each tile is locked in, so the individual tile registers aren't interchangeable at that point. If a function needs 2x4 tiles, 4x2 tiles, and 4x4 tiles, the configuration needs to be set with this in mind. The shape isn't explicit in every instruction and intrinsic. It must be deduced. And again, we'll need a way to tell the user when efficient allocation can't be done. In practice, I don't expect an...

I meant to mention that the DTMF tones and dialtone sound like they're
played at such a high volume that they clip through the handset's
speaker. DTMF is rfc2833, so what I'm hearing through the handset isn't
