sloowww data transfers
...ratching my head at the slow network
performance im having
with samba 3.0.9 (running debian unstable) set up as a
domain for
a couple of winders 2k pc's , used for gaming when
the nieces and
nephews are over it holds the master image of the
games.
Unfortunately data transfers vary from 1MB to 2MBs
from samba to winders
whereas winders to winders does several times as fast
It does not apear to be the hub or the network cards
as the following
indicates
A 110MB file xferred from samba linux - linux takes
about 77s
doing the same over NFS takes 11s.
I also did this with a 740MB iso 88s over...

12 seat call centre with Asterisk, VoIP only, UK - possible?
Hi,
I've had an inquiry for a small UK call centre, mostly outbound calls.
I get the impression they
are mainly calling 3G mobile phones, monthly phone bill, with calls is
approx ?5,000 for several
feature lines.
How feasible is something like this with asterisk?
I guess one big question is which type of circuit to use, ADSL in the
UK is only 256kbs upstream,
some providers do bonding but

Oh, just thought that I should clarify this and I guess other things I said. I think there are two separate things we're possibly talking about in here:
1) Temporary state: This is
