NHW Project - high compression -l4 setting
Hello, For those interested, I have added a -l4 high compression setting to the NHW codec ( http://nhwcodec.blogspot.com/ ).This setting is very experimental, I have boosted the sharpness for this one, but it can lack of precision on low contrast areas. This setting still maintains a good neatness and when it will be validated, I will then make a new 0.1.4 version for the NHW Project. High

NHW Project - new -l7 quality setting
...this setting, but I start to be short of idea (still think to Chroma from Luma and efficient edge-preserving denoising, but they are impressive research topics on their own)... Any help, ideas are very welcome! -To finish, again if you evaluate the NHW Project, keep in mind that we can save 1.5Ko-2Ko per .nhw file.- Many thanks! NHW Project - improvement of -l7 quality setting - more neatness
...d -l7 high compression quality setting, thanks to a new processing and I have also corrected an error in the residual coding. Now it has more neatness/definition.Files size is also a little smaller (and please keep in mind that the entropy coding schemes are not optimal for now, so we can save 1.5Ko-2Ko per .nhw file). Actually I find -l7 quality setting now quite competitive with x265 (HEVC) because we clearly see that the NHW codec has more neatness and I find it more pleasant!... I have also started to work on -l8 quality setting but it is not ready... would need new ideas and new approach of...

Samba 3.2.0-pre3 packages in Debian - version of Samba in Debian lenny
The day after Karolin announced the release of 3.2.0-pre3, the Debian packaging team was able to upload .deb packages for it in Debian *experimental*. To use them, you need to already use Debian testing or unstable, then add this to /etc/apt/sources.list: deb http://ftp.fr.debian.org/debian experimental main contrib non-free (replace "fr" by your favorite mirror country code) If you

Sound support for script.aculo.us
Hi all, I''ve added a new library called sound.js to script.aculo.us, which allows for playing (mp3-based) sound effects. It works without using Flash, by using IE''s internal sound playback mechanism (BGSOUND) and falling back on using whatever plugin is used for audio/mpeg on other browsers (in real world terms, this means QuickTime or a QuickTime- compatible plugin).
