Help with HTB rules (experiencing latency)
...and mldonkey running I experience some latency in web pages, which Iwould like to eliminate. I''ve read that this is where the burst and cburst (even quantum) parameters are useful, but I still can''t understand crearly how to set them (there are few examples using up rates of ~25kb/s), I hope you can check my rules and give me a hint on what to do. Limit i/o capacitiy?
Hi all Is there any way to limit the network i/o capacity of virtual machine somehow? Say, I want a domU with id 1 to consume at much 0.5 MB/s of host''s bandwidth. Is it possible? problems with compiling a package
Hello, I am trying to compile packages for R2.0.0 patch in a win XP machine. Most of the packages compile without problems, with C or FTG or only R. Now some packeges give the following error which I do not understand how to correct ... preparing package xxx for lazy loading Error in "names <- .default"('*tmp*',value=c("R","Platform","Date", :

Torrent: reminder to use it folks!
Well, there's so few going right now that I'm showing 38 days to get the DVD. My normal dnld from a mirror travels appx. 600Mb/sec. I'll wait until most of the U.S. goes home before I give up and use the normal download though. Here's hoping... -- Bill

Helping CentOS automatically
...If you like the majority of us as I am...there is something we can do for the centos scene that really doesn't cost anything. When you download the distro...just let bittorrent seed indefinitely. By doing this you are contributing to centos as a whole. ...go figure...I'm actually giving the centos cause 17-18 KB/s and the beauty...I don't even miss it! My boxes run 24/7 anyway so

When to use LazyLoad, LazyData and ZipData?
Dear developeRs, I've searched the documentation, FAQ, and mailing lists, but haven't found the answer(*) to the following: When should one specify LazyLoad, LazyData, and ZipData? And what is the default if they are left unspecified? (*)Except that 1) If the package you are writing uses the methods package, specify LazyLoad: yes, and 2) The optional ZipData field controls whether the

Poor performance of btrfs. Suspected unidentified btrfs housekeeping process which writes a lot
Welcome, I''ve been using btrfs for over a 3 months to store my personal data on my NAS server. Almost all interactions with files on the server are done using unison synchronizer. After another use of bedup (https://github.com/g2p/bedup) on my btrfs volume I experienced huge perfomance loss with synchronization. It now takes over 3 hours what have taken only 15 minutes! File
