Importing Excel/Openoffice Dates into R
Hi,
I would like to import some daily financial data from excel via csv.
More specifically, I would like to be able to use the ts.union function
from the tseries library as the dates are irregular and I need to line
up the dates so that I can place all the variables into one data frame.
The trouble is, how do I import the dates from excel into R? At the
moment I'm just importing the data

[LLVMdev] dragonegg pb05 for gcc 4.5.4 vs 4.6.1
With current dragonegg svn, the Polyhedron 2005 benchmarks
all now pass when using the compiler plugin under FSF gcc 4.6.1
on x86_64-apple-darwin11. The differences between the runtime
and compile times when using the same plugin under FSF gcc 4.5.4svn
are small. Once new vector_select feature is available in llvm and
-fplugin-arg-dragonegg-enable-gcc-optzns supports -ftree-vectorizer

Correlation Matrix with a Covariate
R Help -
I'm trying to run a correlation matrix with a covariate of "age" and will
at some point will also want to covary other variables concurrently.
I'm using the "psych" package and have tried other methods such as writing
a loop to extract semi-partial correlations, but it does not seem to be
working. How can I accomplish this?

vegan -varpart is bigger than 100% in total?
I am trying to find the percentage of the parameters explaining the bacterial community composition. I have one data matrix with relative abundance of OTUs and one with environmental parameters. I used varpart in vegan package but the values in the venn diagram is bigger than 100% in total. How is it possible? What might be the reason? Thank you

issues in the precise understanding of the coxph function of the survival

I applied patches manually (copy-pasted patches failed to apply by git apply,
probably whitespace/end of line issues), and now I see in X log (after I left machine to run alone):

Using log() on an openMosix cluster
Hi all, I was hoping to get some advice about a problem that I realize
will be difficult to reproduce for some people. I'm running R 1.7.1 on
an openMosix (Linux) cluster and have been experiencing some odd
slow-downs. If anyone has experience with such a setup (or a similar
one) I'd appreciate any help. Here's a simplified version of the problem.
I'm trying to run the

ZFS bechmarks w/8 disk raid - Quirky results, any thoughts?
Hi All,
I''ve just built an 8 disk zfs storage box, and I''m in the testing phase before I put it into production. I''ve run into some unusual results, and I was hoping the community could offer some suggestions. I''ve bascially made the switch to Solaris on the promises of ZFS alone (yes I''m that excited about it!), so naturally I''m looking

virtio-scsi <-> vhost multi lun/adapter performance results with 3.6-rc0
Hi folks,
The following are initial virtio-scsi + target vhost benchmark results
using multiple target LUNs per vhost and multiple virtio PCI adapters to
scale the total number of virtio-scsi LUNs into a single KVM guest.
The test setup is currently using 4x SCSI LUNs per vhost WWPN, with 8x
virtio PCI adapters for a total of 32x 500MB ramdisk LUNs into a single
guest, along with each backend
