safe_strcpy errors from winbindd (Samba 3.0.25b)
Hi, we've upgraded recently from samba 3.0.23 to 3.0.25b. Since then, we've getting these error messages from winbindd: Jul 17 12:00:23 cvk027 winbindd[20772]: [2007/07/17 12:00:23, 0] lib/util_str.c:safe_strcpy_fn(659) The volume of these messages is very high, many times together with unreadable character garbage. Is there any way to correct or suppress these messages? Our environment is Fedora Core 4 (32-Bit). Kernel 2.6.12.2. Samba is a member S...

alias_method interferes ApplicationHelper
Hello, I''m using Ruby 1.8.4 (darwinport), rails-1.0.0 (gem) , Powerbook / Mac OS X 10.4.5 , Webrick. How come Rails always raises NoMethodError for my helper (must_fill and rp or number_to_currency_rp) in application_helper.rb ? I doubt that alias_method is the culprit, but if i give # comment then there will be no errors at all ... :/ what am i doing wrong? is it a bug or stupid me? Thx

ruby bindings odds and ends
In the Ruby bindings, set_X and get_X are renamed to remove the get/set, so MSet::get_matches_estimated() becomes a read-only property (if I have my terminology right) of the Ruby MSet class called matches_estimated. This matches how a Ruby programmer would expect a class to be designed. I was looking through the getters and setters list. I wonder if a few entries shouldn't be there, (the

[LLVMdev] Improving the usability of LNT
Hi Daniel, I made some changes to the LNT perf reporting tool to make it more user friendly by adding some features: 1. Make the sidebar and the navigation bar stationary, so that it is easy to navigate the site 2. Have the pop-down menu for the items in the navigation bar, activate upon hovering the mouse, rather than clicking the item 3. Add a nav-link in the sidebar for the

Using idmap_rid backend, cannot browse home directory from XP
Samba version is 3.0.10 on Gentoo linux. I am trying to use idmap_rid backend in a Windows AD environment, the Linux PC acting only as a domain member. I am using idmap_rid because I need UID/GID predictability. I can log in to console correctly, and it shows the right user and the "Domain Users" as the group. When I use default winbind TDB, I can browse the home directory from an XP
