Post voicemail processing.
.... exten => 200,1,voicemail(200) exten => 200,2,Hangup What I've been told is that they want the 20 year old phone system to light up the message bulb. (yea, a filament bulb, not an LED) To do this you pick up on the line that goes into Asterisk and do a: exten => 200,1,SendDTMF(200w#86) But I don't know the path to take to get that to happen after the hangup() - which is needed to close down the voicemail() call. I've tried: exten => 200,1,voicemail(200) exten => 200,2,Hangup exten => 200,3,Wait(2) exten => 200,4,Answer exten => 200,5,SendDTMF(200w#8...

ultra-cheap asterisk box
hi all what about this... I just put together a box on a web shop (komplett.no) that will cost me NOK ~1850 (? 216) plus a small ?50 drive and cables, so say ?300. This consists of a cheap MB with a duron 1400, 256MB SDRAM and two HFC-PCI cards (if capijod will finish off the zaptel-driver soon). This is all in a cheap PC case. What do you think? Should this be doable? as a product? With only IP

ZyXEL Prestige 200w - should I return it ?
Hi all I have just got a P2000w and experience several problems. Hopefully there is someone out there that has got it working. I saw it on Cebit and the person demonstrating it there told me that it was connected to an Asterisk server on the stand -so it should work. Problem 1: it does not register correctly It get lots of messages like this: Jun 26 19:45:19 NOTICE[1107585968]: chan_sip.c:5630

ultra-cheap asterisk box -> sorta OT, more a bout Dell
...you can't make a compromise on is reliabilty. It has to work and keep working for years to come. I was able to keep the price of a new PC to about $300 ad still use an ASUS mainboard and an AMD XP2600+ The trick is to add absolutly nothing not needed. No floppy, no CDROM so you can run off a 200W P/S. Next I'll experiment with a notebook sized IDE disk drives and to see if _underclocking_ the CPU reduces it's power comsumption enough that we can save one fan. Ideally Asterisk will be ported one day to Linux/ARM or some other very low cost platform. for VOIP you do not need the PC...

What current UPS can I buy?
...ing for a UPS that might run a couple of small servers and other small devices(routers or switches). If I could get 15-30 minutes of runtime from the batts and o course run the automated shutdown and reboot sequence through nut that would be great. The server I'm looking at has a PSU capable of 200W but I don't expect to be maxing out the system capabilities at all. I'll be running either Debian Wheezy(most likely) or Trisquel 6.0 and I'd like to just use the pre-packaged version of NUT rather than building a new package if I can. I don't know if that's enough information...

RgoogleMaps Axes
...R,destfile ="Arvin12Map.png", maptype ="mobile") PlotOnStaticMap(MyMap,lat =datas$LAT,lon =datas$LON, ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? axes =TRUE,mar =rep(4,4)) When I run this on my computer the horizontal axis ranges from 300W to 60E, but the ticks in between aren't linearly spaced (300W, 200W, 100W, 0, 100E, 160W, 60W). Also, the vertical axis moves linearly from 300S to 300N. It seems that no matter what data I supply for datas, the axes are always labeled this way. My question is: 1. Does this problem occur on other machines using this code? 2. Does anyone have an explanation for it?...

Smart-UPS staying in OB after power return

Since we got the UPS, it has only been under testing without any load (I just plugged a 200W lamp in for fun). These issues have been persistent since the first time the new batteries were installed and the unit was powered up two days ago. My question remains: The on-line LED should not flash incessantly, and removing and restoring mains power should cause the UPS to switch to OB and t...

Derek, could you give me some details regarding the solar power supply you're using for your installation? Thanks! How to make/recieve call using asterisk when thereis a power failure?
Sorry I dont have any answers, however I do have a question. I was told that ISDN-30 lines do not work during power failure. Can anyone with some better knowledge confirm or deny this? Is this because the ISDN-30 box on the wall requires power (and Telco providers just dont hook them into UPS as standard)? Or do they mean if your local circuit has lost power so will the local digital exchange

What current UPS can I buy?
I'm sure this has been asked before and I did search the list archives but anything I did find looked to be older. I'm looking at buying some UPS and I'm not sure how to tell which currently sold models are supported by NUT. I know that not every new model will be supported but there has to be some right? Is there a specific designation I can look for in the technical specs that

Smart-UPS staying in OB after power return
Hi list, UPS is a Smart-UPS 3000 RM (SU3000RM3U, ups.firmware 92.11.D, ups.mfr.date 12/14/99) with brand-new batteries. NUT is 2.6.5 running on SL6 (RHEL6 clone) from EPEL packages. 'upsc' output pasted at bottom. I'm not very familiar with UPSs in general or this model in particular, and it's doing things I don't expect. I have done my homework, and read UPS user manual,

UPS rating for SOHO asterisk box
Slightly OT, but I think this is of possible interest to many of you, I need to get a UPS for my asterisk box. They are rated in VA but I can't quite figure out how that converts to real life. I have a PIII-800 box with two X100P and one TDM400P plus graphics adapter, an IDE hard drive etc. Will a small 400VA box be enough for this? tia

Power-outage
I have a CentOS-5.6 remote server in a house in Italy, where there are occasional thunder-storms. There was one yesterday, when the electricity went off 3 times, for a second or so on each occasion. My server, an HP MicroServer, came back (re-booted) on 2 of the 3 occasions, but not on the third. I assume that the problem arises because the machine does not close down properly. (Although it is
