FIX for wxruby-1.9.6 on Windows
Hi If you''ve installed the latest wxRuby 1.9.6 on Windows and are having trouble running applications, please try the following steps: 1) Ensure that you have msvcr80.dll and msvcp80.dll available on your system. If you haven''t got them, they can be downloaded for free from http://www.dll-files.com/ and placed in your ruby/bin directory. 2) Copy a file called

Rise of Nations, not working under Debian.
This may be a dumb one. For some reason I switched from Fedora 8 to Debian 4. In each case I was running Wine 0.9.58. Same machine with same geForce NV18 video chip. The Rise of Nations: Thrones & etc. demo worked (as I recall) under Fedora but does not run under Debian. The game tells me that the video card is not supported. I checked the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and it seems to have IDed the

Configuring duplex printing as default: how?
How do you get a printer mapped by Samba to allow duplex printing, or better yet, to set duplex printing as the default? We're trying to migrate an NT4 domain to Samba, with a Solaris 7 server as the new PDC and print server. If our HP LaserJet 8000 DN is mapped via the old NT print server (\\OLDBOX\printer1), printing is duplex by default, but the printer properties allow the users to change

Truncated emails in Dovecot (v1.0.13)
Odd situation started recently whereby emails that are delivered into a maildir folder are being truncated when read. The emails are delivered via Exim and I can see the emails are complete when I look inside them. However, when viewing the emails via Thunderbird or a webmail client, they are truncated. *** START 'dovecot -n' *** # 1.0.13: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf base_dir:
