[Bug 541] New: bad error mesage when run as not root
...ity: P2
Component: iptables
AssignedTo: laforge@netfilter.org
ReportedBy: netfilter@rothwell.id.au
When iptables is run as a non root user, all sorts of messages are produced that
are pretty much irrelevant:
$ /sbin/iptables -vnL
modprobe: cannot create /var/log/ksymoops/20070208.log Permission denied
modprobe: Can't locate module ip_tables
modprobe: cannot create /var/log/ksymoops/20070208.log Permission denied
iptables v1.3.6: can't initialize iptables table `filter': Permission denied
(you must be root)
Perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded.

Automatic Dial, Play message
Does anyone have some method, or AGI scripts that will automatically
call a list of numbers from a database and play a pre-recorded
message?
For example, you have a database of

why is there email in my mbox file?
Hi,
I've installed dovecot-imapd under ubuntu. My account and root are the
only email accounts on my computer. I transitioned from using GNUS
with fetchmail, exim and movemail, to gnus with exim, fetchmail and
imap, so I've kept the mbox format email instead of changing to
maildir. This works okay, except my mbox file is giant.
I expected dovecot to take the mail out of the mbox file and

PLAIN-MD5 password scheme with salt?
Hello!
I'm storing passwords as MD5 hashes in a MySQL database and have
specified "default_pass_scheme = PLAIN-MD5" in dovecot-sql.conf.
Can Dovecot append or prepend a salt to a password before hashing them?
Because without salt the plaintext passwords can be restored from the
MD5 hashes using rainbow tables.

Rxfax and Txfax on Asterisk 1.4
> AFAIK the current recommendation is to use HylaFax with something
called iaxmodem.
After having been through a lot of problems with RxFax and TxFax I
completely agree with this statement. Allthough the initial
configuration is a bit complicated, once you have this running you'll
get far better reliability.
Kind regards,
Ardjan Zwartjes.

Type of wake-up Call
Hi there,
Is there a way to program asterisk to dial an extension Monday to Friday
at a specific time and then read a specific string? eg: "Kids, go to
the bus stop now, you're about to miss the bus!"
Many thanks,
Pierre
