20050830 is up but where next
I've just installed 20050830 from source on an FC4 box. I used the suggested method in the readme: ./tools/wineinstall It appears to work - if I type 'notepad' from a bash terminal, notepad opens right up - all the instructions say to use 'wine notepad' but I don't need to include wine. Just typing '...

WINEDEBUG variable doesn't seem to work in 20050830
Is there a problem with the WINEDEBUG environment variable in 20050830? I've only been using Wine for a little over a week. I recognize that the online documentation is somewhat out of date with the introduction of the winecfg tool and use of the registry. I know that the WINEDLLOVERRIDES variable still works as I've been able to use that to use native l...

Bug with letters in newer Wine-versions
There existing a bug in newer Wine versions. I use SuSE 9.3 as system. If I used the Wine-version, which comes with the distribution (wine-20050211), then the following window comes at start: http://user.web-gear.com/theuserbl/wine1.png But if I update to wine-20050830 or wine-20050930 then it looks like http://user.web-gear.com/theuserbl/wine3.png It is NOT a font-problem. I have copied the WinXP fonts in the wine-directory, so it looks like this screenshots. But if I don't do it, only the used fonts and the window is smaller. But it have no effect to the...

help with 20050830
I am having some, what I would consider to be, strange problems with this release. Hope someone can clue me in. Nothing about this in Bugzilla. Fedora core 4, wine compiled from tarball download. Did ./tools/wineinstall, added /usr/local/lib to /etc/ld.so.conf; /sbin/ldconfig executing winecfg gives: err:wave:OSS_WaveOutInit open(/dev/mixer1) failed (No such file or directory)

Lotus 123 with Wine
...(I don't use wine for anything else - so far) from Fedora. For most distros the result was the same - dying after 10 seconds. Also got Mandriva to work like that. But SuSE 9.1 didn't die - it worked!!, just as well as (or even better than) Fedora Core 4. All distros had the Wine version 20050830 except SuSE 9.1: 20040213. Did try version 0.9.1 on Mandriva, but no difference to the 10 seconds death. Actually the installation said that 0.9.1 was older than 20050830!? The other distros were SuSE 10.0 and Kubuntu 5.10. Did also try to copy over Lotus 123 Millenium Edition to the Fedora par...

How to install gds32.dll into wine
...l migrate from Windows to Linux. We're using Mandrake 10. Actually there's no problem migrating office application into Linux, but some of our application that is using firebird cannot instantly migrate to Linux. That's why wine is my hope solution for this. After I install wine-20050830-mdk.i586.rpm almost "exe file" can be executed. But application that is using firebird RDBMS need GDS32.DLL . Is there any one who knows how to install this DLL into wine ? I've tried to put this DLL into the same directory of "exe" application, but wine still cannot find i...
