Bug with letters in newer Wine-versions
There existing a bug in newer Wine versions. I use SuSE 9.3 as system. If I used the Wine-version, which comes with the distribution (wine-20050211), then the following window comes at start: http://user.web-gear.com/theuserbl/wine1.png But if I update to wine-20050830 or wine-20050930 then it looks like http://user.web-gear.com/theuserbl/wine3.png It is NOT a font-problem. I have copied the WinXP fonts in the wine-directory, so it looks lik...

Debian SID versions messed ujp
Last few days had wine 20050111-1 but was missing stuff like libwine-alsa. Any attempt to install would remove all the existing modules. Now has everything for the 20050111-1 but has wine and wine-dev for 20050211-1. Attempts to install will quack.

wine-20050211 on SuSE 9.2
I am trying to install wine-20050211 on my second system, which runs SuSE 9.2. After much faffing around I finally managed to download and install bison, which allowed ./config to complete. A warning at the end advised me to install xlib-devel or xfree86-devel. Googling around I found the RPM for XFree86-devel for SuSE 9.1 so I...

Configuration after installation problem
I'm fairly new to wine. I'm running the version (Wine 20050211) that comes with SuSE 9.3. I had been using the version that came with SuSE 9.1 (Wine 20040213), and recently ran the SuSE 9.3 upgrade installation. Getting ready to try installing Word Perfect 8.0, I've been reading the help documents. I recollect a warning not to run wine as root. By mis...

Updates
SuSE tries to feed me Wine V20050211 as a security fix for the recent WMF vulnerability. OTOH, WneHQ says that this is fixed in V0.9.6. Can anyone tell me how to specify to "YOU" (YaST Online Updater) that I most certainly don't want that 20050211 version? Not now -- not ever! I am now using V0.9.7. If I permit &quot...

Dreamweaver MX 2004 (yes... again...) (take 2 :)
Hi :) I've recently rediscovered Wine, and using the excellent Wine-Tools have prepared a useful .wine dir structure with working IE6/OE/Photoshop/Illustrator, etc. However, I cannot get MX2004 [1] installed. I'm running Wine 20050211. If I run the setup in Windows='win98' mode, it launches perfectly and politely tells me that Win98 is not a supported operating system. So, I change to Windows='winxp' and get this ugly error: gdh@plip:/tmp/Disk1$ wine Setup.exe wine: Unhandled exception (thread 000d), starting...

Segfault at debug
...tried to adapt as "WINEDEBUG=relay, file wine ...", but whenever I try it with this parameter (or by setting the variable ahead of time & running wine by itself), I get a segmentation fault. I don't recall getting this on my system at work (Fedora Core 3, wine builds 20041201, 20050211, Thinkpad T41, Pentium M). I expect part of the problem is I can't find a native package for my x86_64 system at home (also Fedora Core 3, but the 64bit version this time). I tried the Athlon and i386 builds (20050211), and get segmentation faults with both. I would try compiling Wine for...

With the Wine version 20050211 my problem is solved. I still have an "uggly font" problem, but I shall have a look in forums and wine documentation before crying on this mailing list. Regards. Eric.

Registry entry for .NET?
...unately, it requires .NET 1.1 to run. I have the SuSE 9.2 Mono package (version 1.0.1; I know there's a later, but this should be OK, afaik) installed; I've loaded the module and mount reports that /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc is mounted. The program apparently is prepared to run under Wine 20050211, however, it gives me a (normal Windows dialog) error saying: Please set Registry key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\NETFramework\InstallRoot to point to the .NET framework install location. I can (probably) write the registry key (with Regedit directly if necessary), but where is the .NET framework...
