Hi. I have to use a comercial Windows software in my work, called Cosilab. Last two months I was using Debian and wine 0.9.1 and everything went perfect. The Program works fine under wine and I haven't got any problems. Now I've updated my computer to an AMD64 with 2Ghz Processor and I do not know if the problem with wine is caused by the 64 bits processor or why... I try to run the windows software and wine gives me an error : fixme:ver:VERSION_GetLinkedDllVersion Unknown EXE OS version 4.0, please report !! and a Pop-up windows that says: "The loader could not find the Windows Installer" When I try to config wine, using winecfg, it says me in other pop-up that " The winecfg tool is not yet complete, and does not actually alter your computer" and send me to the config file in ./wine, in wich eveything appears good. My wine version is 20050211 I really do not know how to fix this.. Can anyone help me? -- -- Pablo Martinez-Legazpi Aguiló

During the last year, wine really progressed and chances are big that your problems are already solved. With regards, Pavel Troller

I am also using that distribution and for the last two to three months YOU (YaST Online Update) has kept trying to give me Wine version 20050211 as a security update for the WMF exploit. As I understand it, at least the most recent five or six versions of Wine have plugged that hole and are far superior to version 20050211. I would be very interested in what you have done to the YaST repository if you have changed something that eliminates that nag from YOU. I use Wine because Pegasus Mail (Windows based software) is my mail client of choice. I cannot use Wine versions 0.9.9 through 0.9.11 for various reasons to run this application.> Really I will miss my pentium III with the simple Debian wich did not > give any problems :( > > Thanks a lot for the patience > > Pavel Troller <patrol@sinus.cz> dijo: > > >> > >> My wine version is 20050211 > >> > > Wow! > > More than a year old wine... > > But with our flavor of wine :-), the rule "the older, the better" is not > > true.
