Error term in aov syntax question
Hallo all I went through all files and through some books I have, but still I am not completely sure about the correct aov syntax. Suppose I have a dataset divided to three portions, according to a factor "mereni" which is a measurement day. There is another factor named "frakce" (Each sample is divided into three distinct fractions according to its particle size). samp

Implicit vs explicit printing and the call stack
Hi everyone, I've run into a bit of strange problem with implicit vs explicit printing and the call stack. I've included an example at the bottom of this email. The basic problem is that I have an S3 object with a print method. When the object is implicitly printed (ie. typed directly into the console) the function arguments in the call stack are exploded out to their actual values,

bug in 1.0RC2?
Hello, I have a small problem with dovecot 1.0RC2. This didn't happen with former versions. There are imap processes that are left open a long while after the client disconnected. I am running dovecot on OpenBSD 3.8. Below is the output of a process list. As you can see, there are many imap processes for the same login running. simon 11593 0.0 0.1 924 1140 ?? I 12:21PM

Very nice! A 14% speedup on a benchmark we don't tune for isn't bad. I imagine that there are several easy wins you could get on it if you were interested

[LLVMdev] Polyhedron 2005 regressions
Comparing the Polyhedron 2005 benchmark results for gfortran from llvm-gcc-4.2 of April 7th, 2010 and September 18th, 2010 (from the rc2 2.8 release branch), we seem to be regressing in performance for this release.... ================================================================================ Date & Time : 7 Apr 2010 22:24:16 Test Name : llvm_gfortran_lin_p4 Compile Command :

[CCing Dale since this was his change, not mine] The change in 81455 fixes a compiler crash. It doesn't happen very often, but I can't imagine we would want to back that out. Fixing it would be a more reasonable solution. From a quick look at it, the problem is that gcc/config/darwin-c.c is registering va_opt for GC. When you build for Fortran, darwin-c.o is not linked so the GC gets

This should be fixed in 5044196b412f. That helped a bit, but not yet fully. Looks like it might be still reachable memory, so leakcheck isn't that helpful. Oooh. I think I see. For various reasons the symbol names we

rms:fastbw variable selection differences with AIC .vs. p value methods
I want to employ a parsimonious model to draw nomograms, as the full model is too complex to draw nomograms readily (several interactions of continuous variables). However, one interesting variable stays or leaves based on whether I choose "p value" or "AIC" options to fastbw(). My question boils down to this: Is there a theoretical reason to prefer one over another?

Slightly OT - Winbind and remote authentication.
Hi I was doing some research on setting up a samba server for my internal network (as an alternative to NAS). The setup looks easy enough, but then I got to thinking - I already have an internet host with an mysql DB that has usernames and passwords and it would be simpler all round to reuse that as the authentication server. That server is also running Dovecot, so I thought it might be simpler

CRAM-MD5 in Python
Hi to all! I?m writing a python module (python+sqlalchemy) to manage user and domain configuration on my system (I hope to get a CLI tool, a Web app and even a native Mac app, via PyObjc, from my lib). I?m implementing password crypto, but I have some problem in generating CRAM-MD5 password, dovecot style. I?ve found an old discussion on this mailing list and a piece of Perl that works, but I need
