[PATCH v2 25/25] drm/xlnx: Compute dumb-buffer sizes with drm_mode_size_dumb()
...and 'bpp'
are originally used to describe one plane. Those three parameters
has perfectly defined physical semantics.
But with multi planar formats, take NV12 image as an example,
for a 2?2 square of pixels, there are 4 Y samples but only 1 U
sample and 1 V sample. This format requires 4x8+1x8+1x8=48 bits
to store the 2x2 square.
So its depth is 12 bits per pixel (48 / (2 * 2)).
so my problem is that the mentioned 12bpp in this example only
make sense in mathematics, it doesn't has a good physical
interpret. Do you agree with me on this technique point?

rgl: insert pauses in animation sequence / movie formats other than gif?
...n animated .gif, but I wonder if there are
other movie formats (.mov, .mpg) I can get,
either with convert, or an external tool, e.g., so I can embed a movie
in a LaTeX -> .pdf document using the
movie15 package.
e.g., I tried using convert at in a command prompt window,
> convert -delay 1x8 coffee-av3D-1*.png coffee-av3D-1.mov
but it seems that only one frame was used.

slightly off-topic, RAID program for on-board SAS 2308-4i ?
Does anyone know what program can be used to query the RAID status
from the OS for an on-board LSI SAS 2308-4i?
On this page:
http://docs.avagotech.com/docs/12351997
there is a curious note on the left that reads:
"Integrated MegaRAID support available upon request"
After one mostly fruitless round of chatting with LSI/Avago/Broadcom
and one completely fruitless round of chatting

Hardware raid health?
I just had an IBM in a remote location with a hardware raid1 have both
drives go bad. With local machines I probably would have caught it
from the drive light before the 2nd one died... What is the state of
the art in linux software monitoring for this? Long ago when that
box was set up I think the best I could have done was a Java GUI tool
that IBM had for their servers - and that seemed like
