Line plot with 3 points
Dear R-experts,
I have a data file df as the following:
genename variable at 1hr variable at 4 hr variable at 10 hr
gene1
gene2
.
.
.
gene5000
I would like to have a graph with X-axis as the time point (1hr, 4hr,
10hr), and Y-axis as the value of the variable. So, basically, I want to
do a line with the three different values at 1hr , 4hr and 10hr for all the
5000 genes....

SSH backups - 1hr daytime; 8hrs nighttime
Hi,
I posted the following message to the RedHat linux list to see if anyone had
any thoughts about this problem. I have only received a few replies, all of
which state that they have experinced poor performance problems with ssh on
Solaris. They do not, however, state if it is openssh, which version, what
hardware, or what version of Solaris. (All I can say is that we have had no
problems with

Note the difference in total bytes written; presumably it was the exclude

Polycom IP600 - Bridge stops because we're zombie or need a soft hangup
I'm having trouble with both my Polycom IP600 and IP500 disconnecting calls to the PSTN after about 1 hour. The below log is of a phone call that lasted 1hr 39mins which is my record so far. I cannot figure out what is causing the call to terminate and I am hoping somone on this list can help me. In this example both the phone and the asterisk server have public IP addresses so NAT shoul not be an issue whatsoever. Any ideas or help would be greatly ap...

Q4) www.vorbis.com seems to be broken... but ogg.org / xiph.org are
working

Here's the story:
I recently got a miniDV cam-corder, and a WinXP laptop that came with
firewire and a copy of Adobe Premiere LE 6. I'm interested in putting about
1hr 20min of home-video onto a CD-R, to share with friends.
Of course, I want maximum quality possible that will still fit into 700MB.
Also it must be easily playable (like, maybe I include codecs on the CD
too).

I'm currently leaning toward DivX 4 codec for the video, but haven't ye...

I cannot observe what the temperature was before (at ages 1hr, 2hr,

Thanks a lot for your help!

memcache for variables
hey,
for performance reasons i want to cache (template) variables using
memcache, making access to data easy in templates by using a simple
syntax like <%=users(2).name%>. this actually should tell the view to
load the field ''name'' from the model/table ''users'' with id=2. it first
tries memcache and if not found, loads the data from the and stores it

Help in grouping time stamped data and general stats help
...data (these periods occur randomly), and is typically caused by
a system crash. Consequently, the timestamps are not evenly spaced.
I would be most grateful if someone could show me how to do the following
(using R):
1). Aggregate the data into time buckets (bins) of my choice for e.g. 0-1
hr, 1hr-2hr etc
2). Carry out tests to check time of day effects
Thanks

Reading large sparse arff files into R
Hi,
I am trying to read in a large and highly sparse ARFF file into R which was
produced by WEKA. However the package 'RWeka' just chokes on this file. The
data set has about 40k observations and about 20k dimensions. Even after 1hr
read.arff method of RWeka is still trying to read in the file, whereas WEKA
is able to read it in in less than 20seconds.
What are my options at this point? I have looked at 'foreign' package as
well but that has it's own quirks (it can't read sparse arff files, which
makes it imp...

LME & data with complicated random & correlational structures
...tor, who has much more programming experience, but a comparable
level of knowledge of R, has been stumped. What follows are 3 questions
pertaining to an lme() model, one on the nested hierarcy, 1 on a strategy
for a piecewise approach to the variance given I have ~24 hours of data
(sampled at 32Hz, 1hr per subject), and one on the corStruct or how to get
rid of serial dependencies before lme().
I'm analyzing skin temperature continuously recorded at 32Hz in Baseline (10
min), Testing (~5 min), and Recovery (20 min) epochs of a face recognition
experiment. Stimuli are the same in Baseline and...
