zfs + NFS + FreeBSD with performance prob
...y good on the server. I''ve one NFS client running FreeBSD 8.3 and the performance over NFS is very good : For example : Read from the client and write over NFS to ZFS: [root@ .tmp]# time tar xf /tmp/linux-3.7.5.tar real 1m7.244s user 0m0.921s sys 0m8.990s this client is on 1Gbits/s network cable and same network switch as the server. I''ve a second NFS client running FreeBSD 9.1-Stable, and on this second client the performance is catastrophic. After 1 hour the tar isn''t finish. [Q] multicasting product ?
Hi everybody! Now that RSYNC has RSYNC+ included a good usage would be to use RSYNC+ to gather update-date, then multicast that on your hosts and process it. So my question is: does anyone know of a product which does reliable multicasting? (source available would be preferred) Simple pointers are appreciated; if noone has one I'm thinking about writing one myself. Thanks for all help!

Usage Case: just not getting the performance I was hoping for
All, For our project, we bought 8 new Supermicro servers. Each server is a quad-core Intel cpu with 2U chassis supporting 8 x 7200 RPM Sata drives. To start out, we only populated 2 x 2TB enterprise drives in each server and added all 8 peers with their total of 16 drives as bricks to our gluster pool as distributed replicated (2). The replica worked as follows: 1.1 -> 2.1 1.2

5,000 concurrent calls system rollout question
Hi, we are currently considering different options for rolling out a large scale IP PBX to handle around 3,000 + concurrent calls. Can this be done with Asterisk? Has it been done before? I really would like an input on this. Thanks! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
