Changing date format
Dear All,
How can I change the format of date of day of the year ? for example r
(i.e. "17 Apr" rather than "108").
The following is the type of the dataset I have
head(Samaru)
Year Start End Length
1 1930 108 288 180
2 1931 118 288 170
3 1932 115 295 180
4 1933 156 294 138
5 1934 116 291 175
6 1935 134 288 154
Any idea is welcome. Thanks!!!
Cheers.

rpois gives a large number repeatedly (PR#439)
...Submission from: (NULL) (129.240.28.172)
I'm experiencing problems with rpois. Occasionally, it draws a very high
number.
Yeah, I know, this is statistics, things like that does happen, but this really
strange because a poisson distribution with a parameter of 3 shouldn't see the
number 1932 very often, but the same, incredibly high number is drawn
repeatedly.
These are the two relevant functions, the latter somewhat expanded for debugging
purposes.
ncloudsbin <- function(binno, ntotalclouds, numberofbins = 100, linewidth =
numberofbins / 6)
return(ntotalclouds * dnorm(binno, sd...

R 1.5.1 not working with Windows NT on Virtual PC 4 (PR#1932)
Full_Name: Alexandre Da Costa
Version: 1.5.1
OS: Windows NT 4 on Virtual PC 4
Submission from: (NULL) (193.253.191.74)
I am using Virtual PC 4.0.2 for every day work.
I wanted to try connections of R 1.5.1 to Oracle DataBases.
But R is running but is not working at all !
The simple commands end with "no finite arguments" error.

Surely that depends on the implementation of your Encode function. If
you use different encoder state
