Problem with dom0_mem and tmpfs on SLES10
...-0.7 on SLES10 for x86, when the initrd-xen file was loaded. On console, various messages about "No space left on device" appears later that the "/dev" was monted on a tmpfs filesystem (for udev). The test data was tarred and gzipped to /tmp and then untarred onto the zfs pool as follows: $ zfs list NAME USED AVAIL REFER MOUNTPOINT testpool 192M 4.62G 192M /testpool $ pwd /testpool/al $ mkdir test5 $ cd test5 $ ptime gunzip -c /tmp/alltestdir.tar.gz | tar xf - What I''m seeing is very high CPU utilization (system calls) and I/O rates that average (only) about 350kb/Sec. This may be the first real random-access of a remote xz file that makes the argument for a smaller block size :) Of course, when you switch to a smaller block size, the xz image can't compress quite as far, but hopefully the size difference is not that bad. Do you have actual numbers com...

[PATCH nbdkit 0/2] Rewrite xz plugin as a filter.
...nly lightly tested but it works for local files and for the curl example given in the commit message. Unfortunately because of the very large block size used in the Fedora cloud image, the curl example is barely usable. We should get them to use a more reasonable block size such as 16M (currently 192M). Rich.

puppet: 3.1.1 -> 3.2.1 load increase
Hi, I recently updated from puppet 3.1.1 to 3.2.1 and noticed quite a bit of increased load on the puppetmaster machine. I''m using the Apache/passenger/rack way of puppetmastering. Main symptom is: higher load on puppetmaster machine (8 cores): - 3.1.1: around 4 - 3.2.1: around 9-10 Any idea why there''s more load on the machine with 3.2.1? -- You received this
