Regression in strptime
This is definitely obscure but we had a unit test that called .Internal(strptime, "1942/01/01", %Y/%m/%d") with timezone (TZ) set to CET. In R-3.1.3 that returned "1942-01-01 CEST" which, paradoxically, is correct as they evidently did strange things in Germany during the war period. Java also returns the same. However, R-3.2.4 returns "1942-01-01 CET".

An Appreciation of Leo Breiman (1928-2005)
We are organizing three projects to honor Leo Breiman this year. First, Salford Systems' Data Mining Conference will open with a special session devoted to his scientific contributions. Second, we would like to construct Leo's scientific "family tree," identifying Leo's students, collaborators, and others whose work has been influenced in an important way by Leo's

Symbolic differentiation ("D","deriv", etc.) (PR#1928)
Full_Name: Lyle W. Konigsberg Version: 1.5.1 OS: Windows Submission from: (NULL) (160.36.64.99) I apparently found an error in how "deriv" puts a derivative to the screen (though the internal representation is correct). Here's what I was doing for a class example: > lnlk<-expression(15*log(p)+11*log(1-p)) > p<-15/26 > D(D(lnlk,"p"),"p") -15 *

na.rm problem
hi, i am a new member. i am using R in finding correlation between two variables of unequal length. when i use cor(x,y,na.rm=T,use="complete") where x has observations from 1928 to 2006 & y has observations from 1950 to 2006. I used na.rm=T to use the "complete observations". So missing values should be handled by casewise deletion. But it gives me error Error in cov(close, close1, na.rm = T, use = "complete") : unused argument(s) (na.rm...

Healing in glusterfs 3.3.1
Hi, I have a glusterfs 3.3.1 setup with 2 servers and a replicated volume used by 4 clients. Sometimes from some clients I can't access some of the files. After I force a full heal on the brick I see several files healed. Is this behavior normal?
