Dell Servers
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had any problems with the Dell 1800 series
servers, with TDM400 cards? I saw that digium seems to recommend against a
lot of the dells.
Please let me know
Thanks
Sascha

deleting selected partition in kickstart
I am trying kickstart for the first time, and am running into
something I don't see described in the documentation.
Somewhere between me and my purchasing department and Dell, my order
for 6 PE 1850s was changed from "no installed OS" to WIndows. So I
received the boxes with Windows pre-installed.
I would like to delete the NTFS partition with Windows, but keep the
Dell Utility partition on the first partition. In the documentation
for kickstart, I see options for
deleting li...

How to prevent loading qla2300.o module
I apologize in advance as this is not really at CentOS specific issue,
but I don't know where else to turn. We are configuring some Dell
1850s for a customer, and they have all been configured with a QLogic
dual channel HBA. But no storage has been (or will be in the near
future) attached to these HBAs. During the boot process (both for the
kickstart and after the OS has been installed), there is a 2 minute
delay (1 minute for each...

ee1000 Ethernet in Dell 1850
Digium's site now lists the Dell 1850 as a potential problem server, as it uses the intel ee1000 Ethernet chipset (as do a majority of servers in the
market!).
To my knowledge, ALL dell servers with Gigabit interfaces now use the same chipset. Does this mean the Digium cards can't be used in Dell servers
unless you disable the onboard ethernet?
I don't want to disable the onboard

CentOS on Compaq Proliant Rackmount Servers
Greetings,
Can anyone relate experience(s) installing CentOS on Compaq rack mount
servers units please?
Easy no problem, easy some issues, or ghastly do not do it under any
circumstances... ;)
Basically, I'm looking at some used/refurb dual PIII units and will run RAID
on Compaq built in SCSI or is it easy to pop in some 3ware SATA in them?
Let me know in terms of CentOS 3 and/or 4 please.

CentOS 3.4 on Compaq Proliant
I am trying to install CentOS 3.4 on a Compaq Proliant 1600, and it hangs on probing monitor type when anaconda starts. I have tried running 'linux text' and manually installing drivers from the f2 options screen. Any ideas? Forgive me if this is an unbearably simple question, but I am new to linux.

Running Asterisk on a Dell PowerEdge 2850 ServerRe: Dell Hardware
It's Digium, not Dell.
I have two identical Dell 1850s, each with the allegedly offensive built-in E100 Ethernet ports. I placed a TE410P card in each. One worked great, the other would not modprobe. Upon examination, we discovered that the two TE410P cards had different firmware revisions. Turns out the one with the older version was the one that...

Same same -- on the random old Compaq....DL360(?) (long since dead) it
physically had no USB on the motherboard, and it took forever to figure
out the 'nousb' flag to make any Redhat installs work.

Getting started with Xen
Hi List,
Being very new to Xen I have a few generic questions for the list, I
hope to grab some useful advice and pointers to documentation.
I am evaluating Xen to consolidate a few existing servers into one
appliance (mainly in order to reduce power consumption, heat, and
hardware failure risks). I plan to have a SER router, an Asterisk LCR
router, a voicemail server, a calling card server
