Shaping question - tunnel
Hello, I''m being confrunted with the following situation and I''m trying to find the simplest solution possible as to also be easier to manage. 1) I have: ISP1 ------ S1 (linux) S1''s got: 512kbits external bandwidth from ISP1 20Mbits MAN bandwidth not including ISP2 17Mbit tunnel connection which provider : 1 Mbit external bandwidth and 16Mbit MAN bandwidth with ISP2 HTB and IMQ are placed on S1. 2) I want to be able to guarantee a piece of bandwith for each user (like 128kbits MAN without ISP2 + 128kbits external bandwidth from tunnel + 1 Mbit MAN bandwidth with...

Hi! I''ll try to set the incoming rate for one ip on a server (with more than one ip) to 17Mbit, but if I activate it, I got in the beginning only 5mbit. I than increased the mtu and burst (as you see below) but I still can''t get more than 8MBit to the server. any ideas? tc qdisc add dev eth0 handle ffff: ingress tc filter add dev eth0 parent ffff: protocol ip prio 50 u32 match i...

Bandwidth Calculations
OK if I go with say HE-AAC or Opus, can I still encode as mp3? I am using Butt as my source encoding. Can Butt be configured to encode using these codecs instead of their codecs its defaulted to? Still a bit unclear on the method to calculate a 128k stream with 6,000 GB available bandwidth over 30 days to give an estimated average user connections possible. Mit freundlichen Gr??en Scott

Traffic shaping on multiple interfaces
I''m trying to setup traffic shaping on my linux gateway/router. The system has 3 interfaces: eth0 - My LAN - with IP address 192.168.0.254 eth1 - The ethernet connection to which my ADSL modem is connected. This has a 10.25.x.x IP, more on this later. The ADSL link has an upstream of ~1.2mbit. ppp0 - The PPP connection which is my WAN connection, with a real world IP. The system acts
