I am sure this has been covered before, but I can find it in my archives. I loaded up a new server IBM x3650, 2x Intel dual core cpu's I installed additional RAM to take it up to 7 gigs according to http://www.centos.org/product.html#seven CentOS 5 x86 which I am using supports up to 16gigs of RAM. Once I boot up CentOS only see's about 3.2Gigs of Ram. I installed the kernel-PAE package and upgraded my kernel to 2.6.18-53.1.13.el5. Searching on the web the suggestions are that I done the above, as I have done to sort out my problem buy nothing seems to work. Any help...

I ended up doing this: wX=Matrix(as.matrix(X)*sqrt(w),sparse=TRUE) coefs1=as.vector(solve(crossprod(wX),crossprod(X,w*y))) which takes about 1-2 minutes, but it seems a better way, using the diagonal matrix, should exist. If there is I'd appreciate hearing it. If not, Im happy wait...

Dear all, I am getting below syslog error on my oracle database server running on RHEL4U5. During this time my swap shows zero on both available and free in the top command output , result in total system hang. can any one guide me how to fix this issue of memory and exactly what this error indicates?? Hi! Anyone have a suggestion which version of Linux would be the best host? We typically use Ubuntu but we are flexible since we want the best performance and the least amount of headaches getting it installed and working.
