Huge SIP traffic!!
Hi, Has somthing radical happened to the way sip traffic is handled?? I was just doing some testing and where G.711 used to use about 84kb/s of bandwith its now using between 150kb/s and 190kb/s.. The lowest I could get it to in the Snom was 160kb/s and 75 packets per second which was by setting the packet size to 40ms (was 20ms) in the Snom codec setup.. I am running a CVS version from about a month ago so I will update in the morning and see if it gets back to normal but it might be worth while to test you systems and make sure you are...

Polycom SoundPoint IP 650 freezes on boot after adding just one custom ringtone
...urations done with the Webserver of the phone stored? I guess must be somewhere in the tftpboot-dir on my asterisk/elastix server. But I can't recognize any file changes (compared timestamps) 2. Where can I find out how many space is left on my phone (some PDF-Guides from polycom say that about 160KB of custom ringtones or about 120 items in contact directory are fine for the phone - I have 7 items in my contact directory and just one (57KB also tried 38KB) custom ringtone 3. What else could be the problem for this behaviour? Thank your for helping me gettng started with asterisk Marco

Probleme with bitrate when encoding small files
Hello, We found a problem that we are not sure who is responsible. Here is what we found: On some small file (around 1 sec) if we ask to compress the file at 128kb/s On an encoder compiled with Microsoft visual 7.1 it generate a file at 160kb/s (that is the behaviour we expect because of the short length of the file) On same encoder compiled with Microsoft visual 8.0 with the same parameter it generate a file at 87kb/s and the sound quality is not really good (but the sound quality is coherent with the bitrate effectively used) >Fro...

[Bug 3109] New: Failure when sftp-server writes big data chunks on Windows
...n which someone else has to deal with this error. I am implementing a custom SFTP client which interacts with OpenSSH SFTP server. I have observed this issue only on Windows... most probably due to Windows `write` function implementation. I am trying to do a SFTP write request using a big chunk: 160kB. Other SFTP clients like Putty psftp.exe use 4kB for the SFTP write request. The problem is that Windows API fails to make the write call with a big data chunk. Using smaller chunks works. The OpenSSH SFTP server error `debug2("nothing at all written");` is missleading as some data is...

Samba performance problem over a radio link.
...workstation, an 95 and a 98 machine. A samba read performed by the 95 or the 98 machine provides approximately 70KB/sec. An ftp get from the same server 100KB/sec. The same read operation, performed by the WinNT machine, achieves 100KB/sec. Reading from an NT server on the 100MBit network provides 160KB/sec, which is near the maximum performance. I read through the on-line O'Reilly book about performance, and I experimented a lot using mtuspeed410. However, I was unable to produce any meaningful improvement. We tryied from 296 to 1500 as MaxMTU value, and from 2x to 6x RWin. The best performa...

smbclient - recently broken?
Hello all, forgive me if this is old news but it seems to me that smbclient is prone to getting into an infinite loop when mget'ting a stack of files. I have tested (compiled from source with defaults) samba versions 3.0.10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 14a Versions prior to 3.0.13 are fine, in my environment, versions 3.0.13 and later are causing the problem. The basic data on my system is -a P4 3.2

Forcing a sspecific stream type
Is it possible to force Icecast to stream in a specific stream type, such as OGG, regardless of the source or input? For example, if a streaming client connects to an Icecast server with an MP3 format stream, can Icecast be forced to send it out as OGG or AAC or anything else? Or does Icecast simply pass the stream through unconverted?

Anyway I think I should get an exception, not a crash so I assume this is a bug in wxRuby. I thought that maybe the crash occurs on first garbage collection but it''s not the case - when I run GC manually somewhere in my a...
