32 bits limit?
Hi all,
Still playing with a big database (120k users, 150k computers) I tried to
split my users into a lot of OUs. This increased the database size and I
was not able to finish to add users into the DB because database file has
reached 4GB size which seems to be the limit.
First: am I right to say file

is there a way using the file_column plugin to enforce a certain

We are running icecast on linux 2.2.19 serving more than 600gb each
months and it has been rock stable so fare. Right now our uptime is
around 3 months.

What made us so popular Nov 16-20?
...pache, MySQL, OpenOffice, etc. Then I looked at this graph:
http://mirrors.pair.com/freebsd/stats/cran-ip.png
and saw that this is likely due to a huge spike in traffic between Nov
16 and 20. Our "visitors" (not sure of the exact definition) went from
the usual <10K/day up to 50-150K/day during that week.
Did we get mentioned somewhere (e.g. Slashdot), or was someone just
experimenting with some automated downloading?

disabling automatic indexing in acts_as_ferret
I''d like to be able to enable/disable the automatic indexing of
documents acts_as_ferret does. Something like MyModel.disable_indexing
MyModel.enable_indexing would be perfect. I need this because I do some
indexing that requires visiting the parents of the model objects and my
import method imports the children first, so the information isn''t there
yet. I''d like to

4.2.1 Indexing attributes
Hi all,
System is Centos 7 and Samba is 4.2.1 sernet version.
The database contains 120k users and 150k computers. It's size is 3.3GB on
DC01 where the imports were performed and 2.8GB on the second DC.
I was trying to index uid attribute and I have a strange behaviour.
According to

Slow performance with Win95 client
Hi
I am new to this list, but I have been having problems with samba for some
time now. Here is the problem When my Win95 clients access the samba
server I get real slow transfers, even if I only have one client accessing
the server. It transfers at like 70k/s to 150k/s, and the collision
lights on the hub start going crazy. even for 10 megabit networking, this
is rather slow. (it takes like 3 minutes to transfer a 5meg file) Here is
the strange part. if I mount a remote share on the Samba server (Linux
2.2.5) using smbmount, and copy from the remote
shhare to a...

I run this probe for N seconds.
I suppose that if i get the

[LLVMdev] SROA is slow when compiling a large basic block
I would like to get feedback from the community on how I can speed up the
compilation of a function that has one huge basic block consisting of over
150K instructions. It takes about 10 minutes for clang to produce the
object file and the function that is taking up the majority of the time is
LoadAndStorePromoter::run, which is called when SROA is run:
// Otherwise, we have mixed loads and stores (or just a bunch of
stores).

[LLVMdev] Dynamic configuration for llvmc2
...Definitely a good idea, which is why I wouldn't suggest Python or Perl
:) For my plugin I would probably just add the Lua VM into the tree, so
that there wouldn't be a dependency at all. It's under a compatible
MIT/X11 license and is only 17k lines of ANSI C that should add around
150k to the driver. For me the driver is about 350k, so that would mean
a driver around 500k, which doesn't seem that big of a difference.

Mono wavs with b4
...tereo 44.1kHz input. Halve these numbers for
mono input).".
This doesn't seem to be happening, though. I took a 16-bit, 44.1 khz mono
wav file, 2:38 long (about 12MB in size -- an old pop song), and encoded it
with "oggenc -b 160 file.wav". Oggenc reported an average bit rate of
150k-plus. The resulting ogg file is about 2.7 MB. When I play it in Winamp,
the on-screen display shows that it is mono, and the bit rate varies in the
range of roughly 140-170k. From the help text, and my experience with MP3
encoders, I expected to see bit rates of about 70-90k, and a file size of

Tinc performance on a Dir-300
Hi,
we are using Tinc in our Freifunk Network in Oldenburg for internode
connections over the internet. So Tinc is running on OpenWrt 10.03 on Dlink
Dir-300 Routers.
We all have enough internet bandwith (1,6 MB/sec and more) but we only get a
maximum speed of ~350KB/sec between two tinc nodes because then tinc uses 99%
of the cpu.
Is it possible to get more Speed with tinc on this machines?
