Cyberpower 1500AVR
All,
I just had a power failure that caused me a little drama. This
spurred me into trying to get NUT up on my cyberpower 1500 again. For
about 6 months I tried to get it to work with the new power panel drive
with no luck. Today I removed all the old files for NUT and installed
the newest version I could find (2.4.3) and it works perfectly now with
my UPS.
Hopefully now I

Experiences With NUT Eaton & Cyberpower UPS
...#39; configurations under NUT 2.7.4 and 2.8.0. I attach these UPS to a typical PC USB power or to the USB ports of a Raspberry Pi 3 something; no apparent operational differences. Only the Powerware units have showed any quirky behavior, be being a bit slower to respond (compared to a Cyberpower CP 1500C or 1500D UPS, or even an APC Smart-UPS 1000) to NUT polling on a NUT server daemon 'start' or 'restart' compared to the Ellipse and Cyberpower units. I accept that Eaton Powerware quirky-ness by being more patient with those units.
As for my NUT server experiences, I personally pre...

USB problems
I was getting:
"Can't claim USB device [0764:0501]: could not detach kernel driver from
interface 0: Operation not permitted"
so I manually installed the udev rules the source (I installed the
Gentoo ebuild).
I am now getting:
# upsdrvctl start

Network UPS Tools - Generic HID driver 0.34 (2.4.3)

New UPS Support: Eaton 5S 1000
Oops... changing that to --with-user=nut solved one problem. I have the
driver, upsd and upsmon running now. Thank you!
Now I'm back to another issue, every 2 seconds I get in the logs:
May 3 13:45:23 myhost upsd[2587]: Connected to UPS [eaton]:
usbhid-ups-eaton
It seems happy to do this forever.

Guys, I've heard about some absurd RAM requirements
for 9.1, has anybody tested it?
