Hello all, Some time ago, you all were very helpful in getting nut running on an OpenBSD system, using--for what it's worth--a CyberPower 1500AVR. So I finally got my FreeBSD system's UPS, also a CyberPower 1500AVR, within reach of its serial cable and I'm trying to get nut running here. I'm going nuts. Basically, I copied the OpenBSD configuration over to the FreeBSD system and tried to put everything in the right place. It...

Cyberpower 1500AVR
All, I just had a power failure that caused me a little drama. This spurred me into trying to get NUT up on my cyberpower 1500 again. For about 6 months I tried to get it to work with the new power panel drive with no luck. Today I removed all the old files for NUT and installed the newest version I could find (2.4.3) and it works perfectly now with my UPS. Hopefully now I

[PATCH] disable nonblocking mode on serial port
Hi, I got a new Cyberpower 1500AVR UPS and nut wouldn't work. It failed to detect the UPS and a strace showed that all writes to the serial port were failing with -EAGAIN. The attached patch disabled nonblocking mode on the serial port and now it works fine. Is there a reason the port was put in non-blocking mode? There'...

UPS shutdown - always the thing to do?
Hi, In an instance where the system is in a sometimes-unattended facility, are there different implications to shutting down the UPS from a script, as compared to not doing so? My goal is to have systems recover ASAP when the power comes back. My UPS is a Cyberpower 1500AVR. The two servers connected to it boot fine when power is restored to them. But I'm ignorant on how the UPS itself will behave. If shut down, do UPS's as a rule turn on when power comes back? Or does that depend on the model? Is there an argument for not shutting the UPS down, just in case...

CyberPower CPS1500AVR (rack mount) options
...utput.voltage.nominal : 120 ups.beeper.status : enabled ups.coldstart : disabled ups.firmware : 5.100 ups.load : 11 ups.mfr : CyberPower ups.model : OP1500 ups.serial : [unknown] ups.status : OL TRIM ups.temperature : 158 My guess is this simply has more battery than the 1500AVR-HO model the powerplanel driver expects, so the 206% battery charge? The input frequency and voltage are obviously off. The temperature is way off. Would it be simple to add enough to the powerpanel driver code to work with this ups? Afraid I don't have Windows to see how PowerPanel Plus talks...

using NUT on centos 5
Hi! Trying to set up NUT on Centos 5 to monitor a CyberPower 1500AVR UPS. There seem to be many documents, all of which seem to be not fully consistent with each other, and most of them aren't up to date. I'm guessing I should be using udev rather than hal, but I'm somewhat stumped on how to figure out what device it should be monitoring. there are a b...

However, my server only has one > serial port and I would like to use it for a console connection. One little thing not quite correct in my configuration
...I can't find a description through web browsing. Or is this an obsolete file? Thanks, --Jim For anyone interested, here are the details on my configuration: I'm running an Ubuntu 8.10 server, and the latest release of nut available through the package manager. My UPS is a Cyberpower 1500AVR, connected via USB. I'm working on the server with the UPS, I'm not doing any remote monitoring at this point. All of the files in /etc/nut have owner:group as "root:nut", and permissions set to 0640 upsdrvctl and upsd seem to be properly configure to a point: after I rebo...
