megaraid problem
Hi,
I'm trying to install Centos 4.3 x86 on a PE 1400SC but the install doesn't
find any HD's.
So then I get the option to load a module, so I choose for the megaraid_mbox
module for the LSI LOGIC 4CH PERC but my RAID5 still doesn't get recognised.
Had the same problem 2 years ago with FC3 wich was due to the megaraid
module wich got obsol...

OT: How do I know if I should have IO-APIC?
With regards to the IRQ sharing situation on 400P/X100P cards how would
I know if I can use IO-APIC?
I am running RHEL 3 on a Dell PowerEdge 1400SC. RHEL installs without
IO-APIC support. Is this because RH is overly conservative or because
it queried my machine and that is the appropriate option?
Does RHEL 3 have a kernel for IO-APIC if appropriate or am I expected to
do a custom kernel build to get there from here?

How do I know that my machine will support APIC?
...rrupt issues. I know my machine is not running
APIC now, but how do I determine if it is capable?
Can I find out from the running system or is this something I need to
know from the mfg?
Currently the X100P shares IRQ with the secondary SCSI (yeah, go ahead
and laugh). The box is a Dell PowerEdge 1400SC. Apparently the "SC"
means Simplified Configuration and limits options on IRQ's among other
things.

I have it up and running on 2 SC420's with TE110P cards. Haven't had any
problems as of yet (knock on wood).
Dell SC420
TE110P
2x40 GB SATA drive in a RAID 1 setup (Linux 2.6 kernel needed for SATA
drives; turn off RAID detection in BIOS).

Just thanks
Hey There,
I'd been out of town, but just got back earlier and had a
wonderful uneventful upgrade to 4.9 release on a poweredge 1400SC.
Thanks for all the hard work making my favorite OS the easy decision it
has been for my servers. I encourage everyone to purchase the CD sets
whether they download and burn or not. I haven't seen anything anywhere
on the MSI Master2 FAR dual Opteron board yet, but I'll be putting
toge...

Dell PowerEdge 2950 Sharing NIC IRQ with Digium Card
Hi folks.. just a few weeks ago I wrote this to someone else:
------------------------
We have several 2900s in production as VoIP servers.. no lockups.
On every server I go into the BIOS and:
* Disable USB
* Disabled uneeded things like Parallel, Serial
* Put ETH0 on a seperate IRQ from the Digium card
And everything's fine. Dell's do NOT have to share IRQs... go into your
BIOS and

ee1000 Ethernet in Dell 1850
Digium's site now lists the Dell 1850 as a potential problem server, as it uses the intel ee1000 Ethernet chipset (as do a majority of servers in the
market!).
To my knowledge, ALL dell servers with Gigabit interfaces now use the same chipset. Does this mean the Digium cards can't be used in Dell servers
unless you disable the onboard ethernet?
I don't want to disable the onboard
