Coord_equal in ggplot2
...he example below. Coord_equal does that trick but in this case it wastes a lot of space on the y-axis. Setting the limits of the y-axis myself was no avail. Any suggestions to solve this problem? library(ggplot2) ds <- data.frame(x = runif(1000, min = 0, max = 300000), y = runif(1000, min = 140000, max = 260000)) ggplot(ds, aes(x = x, y = y)) + geom_point() + coord_equal() ggplot(ds, aes(x = x, y = y)) + geom_point() + coord_equal() + scale_x_continuous(limits = c(0, 300000)) + scale_y_continuous(limits = c(140000, 260000)) Regards, Thierry ------------------------------------------------...

Possible bug in POSIX classes for R 2.11.0?
...d when I performed certain operations on large zoo objects. I sent an e-mail to Achim Zeileis and he said this was a potential bug that I should report to the R development team. The details are given below in the thread below. Basically, I can crash R with this code: library(zoo) x <- runif(140000, 2009, 2010) x <- as.yearmon(x) table(x) This will not crash with a vector of size 130000. Achim got it to crash with the following code that did not use zoo: x <- rep(as.Date("1970-01-01"), 140000) y <- as.POSIXlt(x) z <- format(y, "%d") I did find a work around...

REML option in gstat
Hi, please help!! I've been trying to fit variogram models using the REML method in the gstat package. Every time the Windows GUI crashes. For example library(gstat) data(meuse) x <- variogram(zinc ~ 1, ~x + y, meuse) v <- vgm(140000, "Sph", 800, nug = 10000) plot(x, model = fit.variogram(x, model = v, fit.method=5)) Other fit methods are non problematic (eg. fit.method=7 for WLS or fit.method=1 for OLS) I've tried the code on Windows XP, 98 and NT and all fail, how about non-Windows platforms? Any suggestions...

stackOverflowError

Question regarding user or group quantity limits
Well, It seems that I have exactly the same problem with my Samba 2.2.7a-8.9.0 (Redhat 9.0) ! I have ... around ... 60000 users and 140000 groups ! The "getent passwd" command don't show me all the existing users but around 10000 and the "getent group" command take a very long time but seems to be active ! When I redirect in a groups.txt file the result of the "getent group", the size of this file re...

How to remove the call waiting tone without disabling callwaiting?

Comments about LDA wiki page
I've just tried out Dovecot LDA. The reason I didn't want to use it before was that I found it unnecessary together with Exim, plus I wanted to use Exim's filtering. But now I wanted to see if can notice any improvement when the indexes are updated on delivery, and I saw that it's possible to use Exim filters and pass the resulting folder with -m. Now, correct me if I'm
