Offline indexing with Drb, online using index in Rails?
I have a Rails application where I need to search. Every time an update happens to something I need to update the index for the changed and related document. As I currently have to run on Windows (and therefore can''t use the native extension) it is quite slow to index sometimes and the user have to wait a couple of seconds for the save operation to return. A thought is to put this

Yahoo!-like Event object emulation/abstraction in Prototype?
Hi, I was reading about the Yahoo! library recently and was really excited by the idea that I wouldn''t have to branch for IE in my event handlers. Is there any chance that such abstraction will come to Prototype? Thanks, Sam

one is not one
Folks, I have got a strange behaviour when testing this: sum(x) != 1 let us set x<-c(70,134,1,5,0) and transform it in a vector of probabilities x<-x/sum(x) One expect sum(x) should be equal to 1, which is apparently the case > sum(x) [1] 1 However, when I try to test it I get: > if(sum(x) !=1) print("lost") else ("OK") [1] "lost" Which means

File cloning across subvolumes with BTRFS_IOC_CLONE ioctl
It seems that the BTRFS_IOC_CLONE ioctl fails when trying to do a cross-subvolume clone of a file. Chris Mason suggested in the past ([1]) that this should be possible. Am I missing something?
