Interpreting data from 220V input APC UPS
Sounds pretty normal from what I see. It appears that this is *NOT* a true 240v UPS, but rather one that provides two legs of 120v output from two legs of 120 input, and what is seen as "L2" is actually neutral, and the line names are reporting incorrectly. With that in mind, each leg in should be 120v, as well as the outputs, which is exactly what you are seeing.(The fact tht L1 to L3 is 240v really isn't releva...

Support for Tripp-Lite AVRX550U
Since version 2.0.5 the AVR550U is supported. The X version however is not. The difference, as far as I can see, is the voltage 120V (non-X) vs 230V (X). Is there a way to fake the productid of the X version? Or, alternatively will the X version be supported in the future? Question about voltage threshold setting in NUT
...less than 85 volts, it will trigger ONBATT event from NUT. Is there a way in NUT we can change the threshold from 85 volts to a lower voltage like 40 volts? It might be possible with upsrw - try modifying "input.transfer.low" and "input.transfer.boost.low". However, 40V to 110-120V is a long way to boost. Is this UPS rated for such a wide voltage range? You could also check for sensitivity settings. I don't know about the 3S in particular, but theoretically, usbhid-ups supports those sorts of settings. -- Charles Lepple clepple at gmail

...x the problem, try running the driver with the '-x productid=0003' option. Please report your results to the NUT user's mailing list <nut-upsuser at lists.alioth.debian.org>. No matching HID UPS found Driver failed to start (exit status=1) I'm using an APC SmartUPS 1500 VA 120V RM2U, it is connected via USB. I would appreciate any suggestions from the list. Looks like apt-get install gave me version 2.4.3, apt also claims this is the latest version. Thanks, Steve Boyle -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... APC BR1500LCD
Hi gang, I have the APC BR1500LCD [1] and would like to know if NUT can handle it. The compatibility list [2] does not show it but I thought that perhaps it would fit in as some other unit. Does anyone else have this unit? [1] http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=BR1500LCD [2] http://www.networkupstools.org/compat/stable.html -- /jm

Question about voltage threshold setting in NUT
Hello, We have an Eaton 3S 550 UPS using NUT tool to send power loss event. By default the power voltage threshold is set to 85 volts. If the voltage is less than 85 volts, it will trigger ONBATT event from NUT. Is there a way in NUT we can change the threshold from 85 volts to a lower voltage like 40 volts? We were trying to change ups.conf to modify the output of upsc ..., but looks like it

SSD support in C5 and C6
Hey everyone, My company is beginning to look at using SSD drives in our CentOS based servers. Does C5 and C6 support TRIM and other "required" functions for the SSD to operate? Incorrect Values From usbhid-ups
...e -DDDD option. One is for when the unit is on the line AC and the the other is when it is on battery so that there are at least two points of reference. In earlier tests, I did note that when the unit was placed on battery that the upsstats.cgi screen reported that the input voltage from 119V to 120V and did not go to zero as I expected it would. I also noted that the output voltage remained at 136V. I do have a old General Radio variac kicking around with no line cord or sockets that I can cobble something together with if these files do not provide enough data. On Wed, Mar 26, 2014 at 9:22...

Incorrect values returned from usbhid-ups
...issues, apparently never addressed by any of the later usbhid-ups releases. I?m using 2.7.3. The value I am especially concerned with is the output voltage; if ANY thing should be right on the report, it?s that one! I would hate to have servers running at 137V if they are supposed to be running on 120V. The output.voltage value of 137 reported is suspiciously near the input.transfer.high value. It has often been EQUAL to that. The good news is that the ACTUAL output volts as measured by a voltmeter is 120VAC. In addition... The device.serial and ups.serial are both all zeroes? battery.mfr.date...

Digium FXS modules too fragile?
Hi all, Yesterday, in an attempt to take back my phone room, I pulled everything apart as far back as the demarc and rebuilt it. In the process of putting things back together I accidentally connected my incoming lines to my FXS ports and my phones to my FXO ports. I quickly realized the mistake I made and corrected things but not before one of my FXS modules was smoked by incoming ring voltage.

Fenton PowerPal 660 strange reading and issues...
Hi There, i have a strange problem with a fenton powerpal 660. When you switch off the power to the UPS (from the wall), the server (IBM xSeries 203) attached to it dies...However, if you unplug the cable from the server to the UPS and plug it back in again (with the power still out to the UPS), the server starts up again (set to power up after a power failure) and runs with no issues. I have

Tripplite Smart Int 1000 - wrong numbers
...X value = 0x0000 Hmm, I was hoping to see some numbers in V that matched the format of the V command results in tripplite_usb. If you run "git pull" and rebuild, what does it print for the "D" value? We might need to get some results from others who have similar hardware, but 120V wiring, and compare to see if one of the digits refers to the voltage range.

Potential reboot problem with Polycom IP600 phones
...able times. It appears that if the amount of current being delivered to the phone falls below a certain threshold, the phone will reboot. Here are the specific circumstances which will trigger this problem. Standard AC power voltage in Japan ranges between 100V and 110V, as opposed to the 110V to 120V in the USA. For the vast majority of business equipment (including every Polycom product we have ever tested) this is not an issue. However, it is an issue with the IP600. If the transformer is receiving 100V AC -and- the speakerphone is in use -and- the secondary Ethernet port is in use, the ph...
