32 bits limit?
Hi all,
Still playing with a big database (120k users, 150k computers) I tried to
split my users into a lot of OUs. This increased the database size and I
was not able to finish to add users into the DB because database file has
reached 4GB size which seems to be the limit.

R crashes with large vectors
Good afternoon,
I have been experiencing a lot of crashes working with large vectors in R.
Specifically, I am using XTS of length of minimum 120k elements.
My problem is that I cannot display the vector (otherwise R crashes), I
cannot plot it either (otherwise R crashes). That could be solved by
reducing the amount of points.
However, I have been performing some statistical opreations on is and even
sd(myXTS) crashes R.

need to know which winbind process chews indefinite CPU to
fix this in winbind. However, if it is in the "samba"

process.

I am used to doing this manually via crontab -e, but now I simply have
too many centos servers to build in a given week (get to toss another
120K at some more 2U chenbro/tyan/amd64's -w000ooo).

Design Survplot performance
Hi,
I have a Cox PH model that's large for my server, 120K rows, ~300 factors
with 3 levels each, so about 1000 columns. The 300 factors all pass a
preliminary test of association with the outcome. Solving this with cph from
Design takes about 3 hours. I have created the fit with x=T, y=T to save the
model data.
I want to validate the PH assumption by cal...

Security issues with SYSLINUX 2.01
...her alternative would be to make the syslinux installer a wrapper
around mtools, and use mtools for the filesystem access. Since this
would be done entirely in userspace, as a normal user, there wouldn't be
any security issues with it.
The main problem with this is that mtools is *big*, about 120K worth of
code.
What do people think about this? I'd like to release a security-fixed
version tonight, since I'm leaving on a trip early tomorrow morning.

4.2.1 Indexing attributes
Hi all,
System is Centos 7 and Samba is 4.2.1 sernet version.
The database contains 120k users and 150k computers. It's size is 3.3GB on
DC01 where the imports were performed and 2.8GB on the second DC.
I was trying to index uid attribute and I have a strange behaviour.

Call Quality Issues With 2 Trixbox's - Router Issue?
...back to the originating site, the audio 'bounces' between the two sites, which add to the call quality degradation.
We have been monitoring the router while these incidents have been reported, and it does not appear to be a bandwidth issue. The DSL tail used for Voice gets to no more then 120k in each direction (we have tested the links, and can pull data at 53k/s between sites). CPU usage floats at around 20-25% under load. The router has only shows major packet loss (that we can tell) when REALLY pushing it in testing (e.g. 10+ calls between sites).
We have enabled the SIP jitter buffe...

slow usb hard disk performance.
...USB2 Maxtor One touch II external hard disk on a couple of my
Centos 4.2 boxes and found it initiallised the SCSI subsystem ok and
added device "sda". But the performance is miserable, yet the same
hardware running XP the performance is satisfactory.
HDPARM gives results varying from 120k/sec to , at its peak 4.75M/s on a
USB 2 machine, still very poor by any stretch.
On a twin CPU USB 1 machine it give a steady 1M/sec, which is
consistently slow, which is better than erratically slow ( :-) )
Still dog slow, wondered if anyone has seen this, and wondered if the
