ztdummy: rtc: lost some interrupts at 1024Hz.
...or some reason I cannot.
The two machines have the same kernel, motherboard, the same gcc version
and the same zaptel 1.4.8. On the second machine zaptel compiles without
errors and ztdummy.ko is generated but when I modprobe it I get the
following error in messages:
rtc: lost some interrupts at 1024Hz.
Since modules sizes are slighly different I copied the working ztdummy
on the new machine so the files are the same.....nothing changes!!
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

Your mother boards are probably not 100% the same, maybe a chipset is
newer and causing an interrupt problem. I've seen this before. Put

Problems with ztdummy
...m running Zaptel 1.4.12.1 under Debian 4.0 with latest updates
applied and I have compiled Zaptel from source along with a new kernel
from Debian sources to include 1khz timer support.
The modules build fine, yet when I load them I get the following
output from dmesg:
rtc: lost some interrupts at 1024Hz
And then Asterisk fails to load. I don't have any hardware in this box
as it will be utilized for a pure VoIP solution so a hardware timing
interface is not an option unless I can't get ztdummy to cooperate.
What am I missing? I've been fighting this problem for a couple of
days now.....

Big Bug:Time in VM running on xen goes slower
...ate --> set RTC's REG_A to a high rate--> create_periodic_time(disable the former timer, and init a new one)
Win7 is installed in the vm. This calling path is executed so frequent that may come down to set the RTC's REG_A hundreds of times every second but with the same rate(976.562us(1024HZ)), it is so abnormal to me to see such behavior.
3 OS
I have tried to find why the win7 setted RTC's regA so frequently. finally got the result, all that comes from a function: NtSetTimerResolution --> 0x70,0x71
when I attached windbg into the guest OS, I also found the source, they are all...

ztdummy, zttest
...sn't
have any specific hardware, now). I couln't make zttest (well, ztdummy)
to run.
I tried different versions of bristuff+asterisk, I also tried to load
and not load zaptel, qozap. Nothing. I got an rtc "Warning" message,
something like "some interruptions has been lost at 1024Hz" (aprox.).
Any clue where to check? USB modules are the same than other machine...
We was completely confused about it (how to fix, I mean).
Thanks!
