RTP/SIP traffic prioritization and Linux issues
Hello, all. I've stumbled across what seems to be a traffic prioritization issue in a Linux environment and wonder if anyone else has encountered or addressed this issue. We had planned to use expedited forwarding for our RTP and perhaps our SIP packets. Our plan was to set DSCP to 101110 (by the way, I think document http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/snom+360 is in error as I'm almost certain the expedited forwarding bits are 101110 and not 100010). However, we realized that when these passed through Linux based routers or firewalls using the default pfifo_fast packet schedule...

TOS Settings to DSCP
I am assuming that the TOS values directly map to DSCP values in the ip header. Is this a correct assumption? If so, can someone tell me the correct setting to set call control packets with a DSCP of AF31(011010) and media with EF(101110)? So would the setting for AF be TOS=46?? Is it possible to mark the media and call control separately?? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Recommendations about infrastructure to use with Asterisk
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all! I'm investigating the possibility of using Asterisk as much for internal communication in an office as between offices and I would like to know what considerations you could comment to me being based on the experience that you have had. A priori two things come to my mind: * As to network topology, is advisable to have switches and

[TableGen] What to do if there are overlapping instruction patterns?
I've been working on adding support for a (semi-proprietary) extension for PowerPC called "Paired-Singles". It's a SIMD instruction set supporting various operations on a vector of 2 32-bit floating point numbers. The Extension is found in the PowerPC 750CL, modified variants of it are used in the Nintendo GameCube (Gekko), the Nintendo Wii (Broadway) and the Nintendo Wii U
