We upgraded from a 10/100Mbs to a 2 100/1000 bonding. We notice the speeds of NFS to be around 70-80Mb/sec. Which is slow, especially with bonding. I was wondering if we need to tune anything special with the Network and NFS. Does anyone have any experience with this? TIA

...on the XP machines. This will sit for 10-30 minutes. Their profiles are empty on the server so the amount of data is small being sent across the wire. I see almost no network traffic during this period of time across the network. I have set log level = 10 and I see nothing unusual. It is running at 100Mbs half duplex to a switch/router with 2 XP machines. ...more. Furthermore I can''t restart my domU. It seems that xen can''t attach the vif1.0 Interface the the domU any more. My only chance is a complete reset of the whole dom0 (restarting)! It seems that this problem have something to do with NFS as I can copy larger files (several 100MBs) using netcat. This don''t break anything. It must have something to do with nfs. Are there any information I can provide for more details about this problem? Are there any known bugs about nfs over xen? What can I do to collect more debugging informations to get ideas where the problem...

...speed of the network connection is very slow both SMB and NFS. I have tried two 'budget' LAN cards so far but the second one I tried was even worse! Fedora is recognising the cards correctly. So I am asking if anyone has a favourite NIC that they use with Fedora that produces something like 100Mbs? Thanks for your help! Nick Gale

...s I was getting an error on the XP box saying the path was too long. A google search suggested that speed negotiation was a problem. I changed the NIC on the samba box to an SMC1244TX. The system detected the change and configured the driver automatically. I also configured the XP ethernet to lock 100mbs and full duplex.
