Unexpected behavior with weights in binomial glm()
Hi useRs, I'm experiencing something quite weird with glm() and weights, and maybe someone can explain what I'm doing wrong. I have a dataset where each row represents a single case, and I run glm(...,family="binomial") and get my coefficients. However, some of my cases have the exact same values for predictor variables, so I should be able to aggregate up my data frame and

error using pvcm() on unbalanced panel data
Dear all I am trying to fit Variable Coefficients Models on Unbalanced Panel Data. I managed to fit such models on balanced panel data (the example from the "plm" vignette), but I failed to do so on my real, unbalanced panel data. I can reproduce the error on a modified example from the vignette: > require(plm) > data("Hedonic") > Hed <- pvcm(mv ~ crim + zn + indus

multiple peak fit
Hi I went through some extensive search to find suitable method (package, function) to fit multiple peaks. The best I found is ALS package but it requires rather complicated input structure probably resulting from GC-MS experimental data and seems to be an overkill to my problem. I have basically simple two column data frame with columns time and sig dput(temp) structure(list(time = c(33, 34,

perl woes - perl-file-Temp conflict
Hi all, everytime I play with perl I end up falling on my face. Yesterday, new perl modules available from rf (my chosen repo for perl, perl is excluded from my CentOS-Base), however it did not like an already installed perl-File-Temp, so not recalling it was necessary for my mail system I removed it and allowed the updates. Then when I discovered my mail system no longer working (amavisd

Why is my data always imported as a list?
Hi, I am a relatively new to R. So, this is probably a really basic issue that I keep hitting. I read my data into R using the read.csv command: x = rep("numeric", 3) CB_un=read.csv("Corn_Belt_unirr.csv", header=TRUE, colClasses=c("factor", x)) # I have clearly told R that I have one factor variable and 3 numeric variables in this table. #but if I try to do

Forestplot () box size question
Hi All, I have been able to modify the x-axis to start at zero by adding xlow and xhigh parameters; that was pretty simple. I have been unable to find the location of the code that would turn off the information weighting of the box size (I have smaller randomized trials getting less weight than a much larger non-randomized trial). The function is forestplot() from rmeta. Thanks for any

Could someone identify a function that I might use to perform a components of variance analysis? In addition to the variance attributable to each factor, I would also like to obtain the SE of the variances.
