Help interpreting output of Rprof
Hello there,
I am not quite sure how to interpret the output of Rprof (in the following the output I was staring at). I was poking around the web a little bit for documentation but without much success. I guess if I want to figure out what takes so long in my code the 2nd table $by.total and the total.pct column (pct = percent) is the most helpful. What does it mean that [ or [.data.frame is

barplot with lines instead of bars
Dear useRs,
I want to plot the following barplot with lines instead of bars. Is there a way?
data <- data.frame(cbind(k = 0:3, fk = c(11, 20,7,2), f0k = c(13.72, 17.64, 7.56, 1.08), fkest = c(11.85, 17.78, 8.89, 1.48)))
d <- t(data[,2:4])
barplot(d, beside=TRUE)
Regards,
Rafael.

getting lines with non-rounded caps?
I'm trying to get a plot with wide lines that don't have rounded end caps.
You can see the effect quite clearly with a plot like this:
plot(0:1)
lines(c(1.5,1.5),c(0,.5),lwd=20,col="red")
lines(c(1.5,1.5),c(.5,1),lwd=20,col="green")
abline(h=0)
abline(h=0.5)
abline(h=1)
The colored lines should be between the horizontal lines, but because of the
rounded end caps,

replacing values in a vector
Hello list.
I have a vector of values:
eg
> head(diff_mirs_list)
[1] "hsa-miR-26b" "hsa-miR-26b" "hsa-miR-23a" "hsa-miR-27b" "hsa-miR-29a"
[6] "hsa-miR-29b"
and I would like to conditionally replace each value in this vector with a number defined in a dataframe:
> fc
???????????? Probe ave.fc
1?????? hsa-let-7a?? 1.28

Hoaglin Outlier Method
I am a new user of R so please bear with me. I have reviewed some R books,
FAQs and such but the volume of material is great. I am in the process of
porting my current SAS and SVS Script code to Lotus Approach, R and
WordPerfect.
My question is, can you help me determine the best R method to implement
the Hoaglin Outlier Method? It is used in the Appendix A and B of the fo
llowing link.

Questions on Data reading using zoo package
Hello,
I try to handle the data using read.csv , zoo and aggregate functions.
The data contains NA values. After aggregating monthly data into quarterly
data, all data become NA. Is it because I don't properly aggregate the data
in the presence of NAs? What can I do?
Another problem is that the date in month is presented in Chinese (My OS
is in Chinese.) How can I set the default

having some problems getting things to work the way I want them to.
before I throw my configuration at you guys ;), I`d like to debug it by

xyplot() does not plot legends with "relation=free" scales
Hi all,
I have this problem with lattice that xyplot() won't draw some of my axis labels if the type (i.e. the relation argument) of scales is set as free. For example, in the plot below, I would want it to also show:
1. the labels E1,...E6 below the 10th panel (i.e. 3rd row, 2 col)....just as it is now done below the 12th panel....
2. as well as the labels (2,4,6,8) on the top of panels 1

[PATCH] Fix typos, OpenBSD + Portable
Hi.
Whenever I notice a typo someplace, I fix it in a local "typo tree".
Attached is 2 patches from that tree, one against OpenBSD and the other
against Portable.
Is it worth fixing these?
